“It was really unforgivable,” Steve Kerr referred to Draymond Green‘s ejection in a recent podcast. “He deserved it,” the coach said in the post-game conference. From the initial years of donning a Golden State Warriors jersey, Green has slowly solidified his status as the defensive anchor for the franchise. His basketball IQ, grit, and court awareness are second to none. However, the forward cannot gauge the same standard when it comes to staying in the game.

Green’s recent ejection rendered a usual sight and an emotional Stephen Curry hiding behind his jersey. While some, like Gilbert Arenas, plead Green to be innocent, the majority weighs heavy on the contrary; due to Draymond’s illustrious past. Now, as the Wednesday night incident tops traction, Seth Greenberg, coach, and ESPN analyst bashes the entire organization behind Green’s actions.

Jay Williams, the former NBA player, segued to Seth’s bold remarks by saying, “Somebody [Green] so aware, a sense of heightened awareness, the lack of awareness internally is what really loses me.” Like fans, Jay’s comment resonated purely on Green’s composure on the court. However, Greenberg put forth a bold notion. The analyst blamed “the organization” for Dray’s continued behavioral issues and failure to imbibe the values of their winning culture.

Moreover, Seth also hinted at the end of their modern-day dynasty, saying, “The coach… has to take ownership of what’s going on. Don’t play the dude. He’s absolutely killing your culture, your identity, and basically everything that you built.”

Seth argues Warriors leaning on providing the leadership mantle to Green, despite his tendencies of hurting the squad. With that, the analyst urges the Warriors’ franchise to prioritize their culture and hopefully pave the way for ideal conduct within Draymond Green. With that, he said, “Your actions as a coach, as an organization have to be a whole lot stronger,” pleading with the franchise to set up clear expectations and boundaries with the 34-year-old forward.

Does Green’s actions question Stephen Curry’s leadership?

In his remarks, Seth also calls upon Curry, claiming him to spearhead an order and assert his leadership on the squad. Moreover, Steve Kerr, in a recent feature, partially blamed himself for not correcting Green’s approach. “I should have intervened and reminded him that it all starts with finding the right spot,” Kerr recalled. With that, several notions question Curry’s leadership role within the franchise, deeming it to be inadequate.

However, Kerr clears the air while appearing on 95.7 The Game, saying that “he’s [Draymond Green] a grown man. He’s got to handle his own business. Any mention of Steph being culpable is just ridiculous.” With that, Jay Williams backed up Kerr’s statements. However, in similarity to Greenberg, the former player blamed the franchise for enabling Green’s questionable antics.
