Amid a poor season for the Golden State Warriors, Draymond Green continues to trouble the side on the court. Days after facing a 5-game suspension for an ugly on-court physical altercation, the 4x NBA Champion was again involved in another spat. During the Tuesday night game against the Phoenix Suns at the Footprint Arena, Green took a wild swing at a 7-foot Suns star on the court.

A few weeks ago, Green was involved in a similar altercation in a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The 33-year-old head locked another 7-footer Rudy Gobert while the rest of teammates and refs tried to separate them. The act not only ejected him from the game but also ended in a 5-game suspension.

The 5-game suspension disrupted the Warriors’ progress in the season. While Steve Kerr pushed Chris Paul to lead the second unit, Draymond Green‘s suspension forced an alteration to the plan, and the team eventually went down with a 6-game losing streak.

Similarly, he pulled off yet another disappointment for the team. The Warriors had a decent start to the game and maintained a steady lead throughout the game. Stephen Curry, along with his young teammates like Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski, kept the pressure flowing on the Suns with consistent buckets.

However, Green’s actions put a brief pause to the effort. Midway through the 3rd quarter, while the Suns were chasing behind the Warriors’s total, 7 ft. Jusuf Nurkić guarded Green with minimal contact. Suddenly, the star turned around and swung his arm around Nurkic’s neck. The refs went for an official review and ejected him under a double flagrant foul.

The altercation not only briefly paused the game but also led to another loss for the Dubs. Let’s find out more in detail about how Green’s ejection cost the game for the Warriors.

During Green’s ejection, the Warriors held a 5-point lead over the Suns. And, the Suns hadn’t taken the lead since their first lead in the opening few minutes of the game. But after the brief pause in the game, the Suns came back stronger and finished the third quarter with a one-point lead.

While the game was equally poised for both teams to battle it out in the last quarter, the Suns came out with flying colors. Devin Booker read the missing block in the Warriors’ defense and dropped jumper after jumper to seal a close 119-116 win.

Moreover, the double flagrant foul led to a question of whether Green would be suspended again or not. If yes, will it further affect the Dubs’ run in the season?
