The Golden State Warriors secured their fourth consecutive victory in a nail-biting 113-112 victory over the Phoenix Suns. With only 0.7 seconds remaining on the clock, Stephen Curry delivered a clutch 27-foot 3-pointer, earning props from all over. Draymond Green‘s wife, Hazel Renee, took the moment to celebrate the Dubs’ victory with Steph’s wife, Ayesha Curry, too.

Ayesha shared Renee’s post tagging which had been captioned by Renee, “If the dictionary were pictures only Steph’s name would be right next to CLUTCH!! @ayeshacurry get ya mannn,” with a bunch of heartfelt emojis with her 7.8 million followers on Instagram.

Renee and the Warriors’ big man Green go as far back as college, where they attended the same theater course at Michigan State University but got intertwined in each other’s lives much later. They ended up tying the knot on August 14, 2022. Renee has been a vocal supporter of her husband, Draymond, every step of the way.

Curry and Green: A Successful Partnership

The prowess of the Curry-Green duo is undeniable. Green has consistently supported Curry in reaching his full potential. After having been reinstated from his indefinite suspension, Draymond has been channeling his intensity and has been helping his team secure dubs. Green managed to bag 15 points, 9 assists, and 7 rebounds against the Suns while Curry finished the game with a staggering 9 3-pointers, a total of 30 points.

The partnership between the Warriors’ veterans, Curry and Green, is a rather successful one and there’s evidence to support the same. To exemplify, big man Green was out during an indefinite suspension (16 games) after having hit Sun’s Jusuf Nurkic. How was Curry performing then? Curry averaged 23.3 points on 47.1% shooting from two, 36.0% from three, 89.9% from free throws, and 56.0% true shooting. Since Green’s return, “Chef Curry” has been on cookin’, averaging 32.7 points on 60.2% shooting from two, 47.7% from three, 97.0% from free throws, and 69.4% true shooting.

Currently sitting in the 10th place of the Western Conference, not all hope is lost for the Golden State Warriors. Their winning streak brought them back to .500 (25-25) and re-inserted them into the play-in tournament picture. The Dray-Curry partnership has been dominant but Renee’s wise words are not far from the truth, sure enough offense sells tickets but a good defense leads to victories.
