Emo Jimmy Butler has made a comeback. After leaving the internet in hysterics with his new hairdo -straight hair with an emo cut- on Miami Heat media day, Jimmy Butler is once again turning heads with the emo look, but with a twist this time.

In the new music video for “So Much (for) Stardust” by the Grammy Award-nominated and multi-platinum rock band Fall Out Boy, emo Jimmy made a surprise cameo. This time, however, in a bedazzled purple suit, cowboy hat, and snakeskin boots. Sharing the spotlight with him is Pete Wentz, dressed similarly but in a silver suit.

Butler took to Instagram to share a snippet from the music video and some behind-the-scenes shots and captioned it, “@falloutboy X emo jimmy. Does the world want emo jimmy back?”

After turning up at the media day with face piercings, eyeliner, and hair covering half his face, he said, “I’m very emotional right now. This is my emo state and I like this. This is me. This is how I’m feeling as of late.” Perhaps he was emotional about Damian Lillard’s trade to the Milwaukee Bucks, Miami’s biggest contenders in the East. Could this resurrection be a reflection of his emotional state after he was sanctioned a one-game suspension?

Jimmy Butler Loses $260,000 in Fines

During the Heat’s 106-95 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans, a fight broke out early in the fourth quarter. It began when Miami’s Kevin Love fouled Pelicans’ Zion Williamson, causing him to fall and hit in the head on the deck. Pels forward, Naji Marshall took exception and confronted Love, prompting Jimmy Butler to intervene. The situation escalated as Marshall grabbed Butler’s neck. Just when the situation was de-escalating on this side of the court, another altercation erupted on the sidelines involving Thomas Bryant, Jose Alvarado, and forward Nikola Jović. Butler, Bryant, Marshall, and Alvarado were all ejected from the game and missed the remainder of the fourth quarter.

Butler and Naji Marshall were then suspended for one game each by the league for “instigating and engaging in an on-court altercation.” As a result of the suspension, Butler missed Miami’s 121-110 victory against the Sacramento Kings and incurred a $260,000 fine. The league also disciplined the other players involved. Bryant and Alvarado were handed three-game suspensions each for leaving their respective benches and escalating the situation. Meanwhile, Nikola Jovic was suspended for a game for leaving the bench area.
