Nearing the end of his infamous ‘Mafiathon 2’, streaming sensation Kai Cenat invited Kyrie Irving as a guest. The enigmatic star, although doesn’t usually appear on such occasions looked to be comfortable around the bubbly Cenat. They played basketball, hung around in his room, and then Irving’s phone rang. With a sigh, he said, “it’s going to be Los Angeles”.

Did the rumors from two seasons ago finally manifest themselves into a reality? Are LeBron James and Kyrie Irving, a celebrated tandem back together on the same side? Sadly, that’s not the case.

It might be common knowledge at this point. The enacted scene was a part of Cenat’s tasks for his guests. In the past, Kevin Hart simulated a photoshoot. Just like that, Kyrie Irving with intense music adding some weight to the moment acted out what it would look like if he did ever get traded to the Los Angeles Lakers.

It’s not surprising for LA to be the destination. Even though it’s been seven years since they played together, LeBron James expressed frustrations about not being his “running mate” anymore. Furthermore, Kai Cenat himself is an ardent fan of James, and if not the truth, at least wanted a taste of what a potential NBA trade negotiation would look like.

Does this mean the road to LA is closed for KAI? Factually, this could be the last season Kyrie Irving remains in Dallas unless he opts into his player option next season. Moreover, he idolized Kobe Bryant growing up and became his mentee when in the league. The eight-time All-Star could always want to continue the legacy of the ‘Black Mamba’ with the franchise Bryant spent his entire career with.

However, has there been an indication of the same?

What’s your perspective on:

Could Kyrie Irving's Lakers dream ever come true, or is Dallas his true basketball home?

Will Kyrie Irving be a Laker?

The NBA is a funny business. The unexpected happens more frequently than it should. Hence, no possibility can be ruled out. Before re-signing with the Mavericks, Irving even attended a Lakers playoff game. That seemed to be an indicator for the fanbase of him mapping out a future in LA. But while he admits “Everything was considered”, the move never went through.

“There were so many different factors in between. When it comes to business decisions, you have to ask the GMs, the presidents why certain things didn’t work out,” Irving said about the potential move. And now, it looks like the time has passed.
