In the midst of the already swirling news that things might not be going well between the Los Angeles Lakers star and his fiancée, Anamaria Goltes, social media detectives caught Doncic liking a picture of a different woman. “Liking ig models’ posts but hasn’t liked a single one of his fiancé’s in more than a year, and they’re telling me it’s normal,” the user wrote.

In this day and age, being a public figure with a relationship comes with an unwritten obligation to show love to the partner to avoid getting the relationship bumped around on social media. Luka Doncic has known Goltes since he was a teenager. Since he arrived in Dallas, he has been with Goltes. The couple maintained a very low-profile relationship. Doncic also got engaged while he was in Dallas. The speculations about their relationship falling apart only started after he joined the Lakers. However, some fans instantly fact-checked the user to find that the woman in the picture was not an Instagram model. It was Anđela Ignjatović, the 24-year-old Serbian singer from Belgrade. The picture that Doncic liked was from October last year. It was months before any speculations about their relationship even started. “That’s a post from October, you’re being very parasocial,” one fan called out.

After Doncic had his first daughter, he went on a brutal run. In the next seven games after Gabriella’s birth, Doncic averaged 36 points, 9 rebounds, and 12 assists. Since then, the narrative has followed Doncic.
