Stephen Curry has been quiet so far into the Olympics after a decent performance in the exhibition games. The Chef is more of an off-ball threat rather than a scorer. So far into the Olympics, Steph only scored 29 points and wasn’t shooting his best from distance. However, things took a turn as Team USA faced the Serbians in the Semi-Finals. This isn’t the first time the Americans are playing Nikola Jokic and company. In fact, it’s the third time in the last month or so that the two matchup up.

And this time, it all started off with Curry taking control of things. Fans have been eagerly waiting for a game led by Steph and they might just have it. Curry drained 5 three-pointers in the first quarter and had 17 of Team USA’s 23 points. While the Serbians came out aggressive, taking an 8-point lead by the end of the first quarter, it is safe to say that Steph is back. The NBA world on the other hand went berserk on Twitter, excited over Curry’s comeback. Ja Morant, Paige Bueckers, Pat McAfee, and other fans were as excited to witness Steph taking over in Paris.

Did Dell Curry save Stephen's legacy by ending his Olympic disaster? What's your take?

Have an interesting take?

The reason behind Curry’s eruption may have been a member of the audience, as his father, Dell Curry, was in attendance in the Bercy Arena. Not only that, but Travis Scott also sat courtside supporting Team USA. Nevertheless, as amazing of a start as it was from Stephen Curry, Team USA struggled to keep up with the Serbian offense. The Americans were down 13 heading into the fourth quarter. It almost seemed as if Team USA might not punch their ticket to the Finals.

But just then, Curry, KD, and LeBron flipped the switch. Curry drained a three that put Team USA up by one. This was followed by LeBron attacking the basket coast to coast, extending the lead. In the end, Durant did the honors of making it a two-possession game and sealing the win. Curry’s 36-point eruption was backed by 9 threes and 8 rebounds. This also stands as the best performance in the USA (Olympic) men’s basketball history, second to Carmelo Anthony’s 37 points in 2012. Though as Steph and company move to the Finals, the Chef might just have to flip the switch again.

Stephen Curry’s MVP-like performance will be needed against France

The French shocked the Germans as well as the Canadians in the elimination round, as they punched their ticket to the Olympic Finals. Not only that, but their win over the Canadians also took fans by surprise. It’s pretty clear that the hosts are steaming ahead in confidence, but then again, Team USA may just know what to pull off in a desperate scenario. They have Steph, KD, and Bron who are the best finishers but then again, the key to winning gold is a good start.
