The Curry Clan is deeply entrenched in the NBA now more than ever, as the Golden State Warriors clash with the Charlotte Hornets today. For Dell Curry, the Hornets’ broadcaster and proud father, it’s a day filled with both excitement and a unique challenge. Both his sons, Stephen and Seth, will be competing against each other, and Dell has made a tall promise of remaining “unbiased” in his broadcasting!

Today’s match-up between the Curry brothers marks a historic moment in NBA history: the first time a father will be calling a game where both his sons are playing on opposite teams. To which Dell Curry replied, “It’s a parent’s dream come true. Where else would you rather be in the booth calling like I’m in the kitchen or backyard watching them play, watching them fight, watching them foul each other.”

“I’ll go out, settle it and go back in to let them finish the game… I can’t wait to call the action. I’m gonna be totally unbiased and calling it like I see it like I did when they were young,” he added.

A family affair on the court

This game marks the 14th time the Curry brothers will face off on the court, adding another chapter to their friendly sibling rivalry. But there’s even more significance to today’s match-up. It takes place in Charlotte, the city where both Stephen and Seth spent a large part of their childhood.

Earlier in February, Seth was traded from the Dallas Mavericks to the Charlotte Hornets, also a team where Papa Curry holds the record for the all-time leader in games played with 701 games in the franchise history.

In the pre-game interview, when asked if it’s still exciting to go against his brother, Seth Curry replied, “It’s always fun to come here and compete against Steph. I don’t know how many more times we’re going to have to do this.” Further, Seth was asked jokingly if there’s any bets going between him and his brother Steph, but Seth said, “The betting days are over, man. That was years ago, but it’s always bragging rights on the line when we match up.”
