LeBron James officially kick-started his 22nd season tonight in LA, standing on par with Vince Carter’s record. However, the 39-year-old superstar put on his dancing shoes and showcased his grand athleticism right from the start. Minutes into the game, he even hammered an expansive dunk. Nevertheless, this isn’t something new. He has been doing it consistently for years. But what’s new? It’s the wholesome moment of Father James preparing his son with a small pep talk at the courtside.

What did LeBron James say to Bronny before his historic NBA Debut?

After clocking out in the first quarter, LeBron James headed to the Lakers bench and found himself a seat near his son. The 20-year-old rising star nervously watched the game sat beside his father, as the LA side put up a dominant show. Looking at his son, James Sr. initiated a pep with a question, as he put on his pullover. The Akron Hammer asked, “Ready? See the intensity right?” Bronny gave a gentle nod and James continued with a simple advice, saying, “Just play carefree though! Don’t worry about making mistakes.”

The mic attached to LeBron James‘ jersey captured the interaction and paved the way for an amazing fan service moment for the NBA world. However, the superstar’s pep talk didn’t go as planned for Bronny James, as the 20-year-old’s poor preseason form continues.

How did Bronny James’ official debut turn out?

The NBA world already witnessed Bronny James in the Purple & Gold threads in the preseason. Up until the last game against the Warriors, where he scored 17 points with 3 blocks, the young gun had a disappointing run, barely making any impact on the court. However, the last game turned that perspective upside down.

Tonight, with 4 minutes left in the second quarter, JJ Redick decided to send in the father-son duo together. The moment when the duo was about to clock in was cinema. When Bron and Bronny stood up and walked towards the scorer’s table, the Crypto.com Arena erupted. The duo stood there until the ref blew the whistle and finally stepped in.

Nevertheless, Bronny’s performance wasn’t satisfying enough. The young gun stayed on the court for roughly about 2 minutes and 41 seconds and collected a rebound but didn’t score a bucket. Moreover, he also tried his luck at shooting, with a 0-2 FG. At the same time, it’s unfair to expect Bronny to shine in just 3 minutes. Maybe we’ll witness more from the duo in the coming days.
