Anthony Edwards recently discussed his desire to become one of the league’s top players in an interview with NBA TV’s Chris Haynes.

Haynes asked Edwards about his expectations going into his fourth season in the league. He firmly responded, “I think I should be in conversations about being one of the best players in the NBA. I’m not right now, but I will be after next year.”

Haynes enquired further, wondering why he had made a specific reference to the following year. Edwards said, “I mean, because of the season I’m going to have.”

His new contract will begin in the 2024–25 season. He will be the fourth player this summer to get the maximum rookie scale extension.
