Minnesota Timberwolves strategically strengthened their bench throughout the free agency period. Guard Troy Brown, who signed a two-year, $8 million deal with them was one of their new additions. The team also traded guard Shake Milton with a two-year contract. He made a substantial contribution to the Sixers the previous season, recording remarkable averages of 8.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.

The Minnesota team hopes to strengthen its bench and offers significant depth with these acquisitions. With the upcoming season looming close, Anthony Edwards signed an extortionate $260,000,000 deal recently. Amidst this latest deal, Edwards shares his “kill everybody” mindset that makes him one of the best on the court.

Anthony Edwards reveals his mindset

Anthony Edwards recently discussed his desire to become one of the league’s top players in an interview with NBA TV’s Chris Haynes.

Haynes asked Edwards about his expectations going into his fourth season in the league. He firmly responded, “I think I should be in conversations about being one of the best players in the NBA. I’m not right now, but I will be after next year.”

Haynes enquired further, wondering why he had made a specific reference to the following year. Edwards said, “I mean, because of the season I’m going to have.

Austin Rivers, who was sitting beside him, asked him about his strategy to solidify himself as the best shooting guard in the NBA in the upcoming season. Anthony Edwards had a bold response in store for his teammate: “Just k*ll, k*ll everybody. That’s my mindset every time.”
Edwards elevated his game last year, earning his first All-Star selection. He averaged 24.6 points per game, leaving opposition defenses scrambling to control his explosive offensive arsenal. Furthermore, his scoring prowess was on full show every single night. He bought in 5.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game contributions. And he did this, with only missing out on a total of three games!
He continued, “You know anytime I match up with any of those guys,  I’m gonna guard them. And hopefully, they guard me and I showcase that I’m a lot better than them.”
Now, with his new deal, Edwards who turns 22 in August can strive to be the best shooting guard in the league.

Anthony Edwards re-signs with the Timberwolves

Anthony Edwards recently signed a lucrative contract extension with the Minnesota Timberwolves. The five-year contract has the potential to total a whopping $260 million by the time it concludes. However, this sum is subject to Edwards being selected for the 2024 All-NBA team.

Furthermore, a salary cap increase of no more than 10% for the 2024–2025 league year. The five-year agreement would amount to $217 million if Edwards does not earn an All-NBA place but the salary cap still increases by 10%.

His new contract will begin in the 2024–25 season. He will be the fourth player this summer to get the maximum rookie scale extension.

Edwards joins the elite group of athletes who have scored the most points before the age of 22 thanks to his extraordinary guarding skills. These players include Kevin Durant, LeBron James, and Carmelo Anthony. The Timberwolves now have three maximum players on their roster, including center Rudy Gobert and guard Karl-Anthony Towns. Minnesota can confidently look toward a bright future with its emerging star guiding the way.
