LeBron James still got it. And he announced it on a big stage when his big feat was honored. At the end of the show he was carrying another award home. But in his two-decade-long decorated career, it wasn’t the only time he bagged ESPY.
The 2023 ESPY Awards handed out winners only hours ago from various fields of sports. The award dates back to 1993 and has been an annual event honoring and recognizing the contributions of athletes in their respective sports. So, after being honored once again, many wondered about ESPYs in James’ cabinet.

Labeled as the ‘Chosen One’ right out of high school, LeBron James has been one of the most consistent performers in the NBA. From an early age, The King has been a driving force for his teams whenever they needed it.
James won his first award back in 2007 after leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to their first NBA Finals appearance. He won the award once more in 2009 but was unfortunately knocked out of championship contention at the hands of the Orlando Magic.

Then came James’ Miami Heat days when he won the award back to back while also winning his first two NBA championships. While he may not have been able to pull off a threepeat in the league, he surely was able to in the ESPYs Awards.
The Los Angeles Lakers star won the ESPY awards in 2016, 2017, & 2018. It started when James brought the Cavaliers their first-ever NBA championship ending a 52-year-long championship drought for the Cleveland.

James has won the award for the best NBA player, for championship performances, for best male athlete, and more. But for the first time, this year James was honored with ‘The Best Record-Breaking Performance’ after he surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the All-Time scoring list.
The King managed to scare the entire world
LeBron James is miles ahead in terms of having the most amount of ESPYs Awards under his belt. The King has now won the award 16 times after tonight’s win. The crowd got an amazing speech from both James and his wife Savannah who almost cursed on Live TV.

James even gave the entire world a scare when he started hinting towards retirement. He started off talking about his numbered days left in the league but quickly gave fans a sigh of relief when he told them it was not happening anytime soon.
