Giannis Antetokounmpo is keeping an “open mind” for the first time in his career. Considering a shift from Milwaukee to elsewhere? Maybe. Well, there was a reported meeting held right after the Bucks’ exit from Round 1 of the playoffs. They wanted to discuss the Greek Freak’s future with the franchise. However, further reports say that nothing decisive came out of it. And now, the rumors are getting louder as the offseason looks more thrilling than ever.

If Giannis finds another landing spot in 2025, it will disrupt his settlement in Milwaukee, right? Dwight Howard has experienced this shift before. The 2004 No. 1 draft pick joined the Orlando Magic and played until 2012. Then he moved from Florida to Los Angeles. He left behind the only home he ever knew and walked a new path with a new team—the Lakers.

13 years since that fateful shift, and the Magic Hall of Famer sat in TNT’s studio with a simple message for Giannis Antetokounmpo. “Well, what I wanted to really tell him to do at this moment is to really just stay silent, stay still, and stay vigilant,” Howard advised the 30-year-old 2x MVP. “I think a lot of times when you speak too early in a situation, it kind of puts a lot of pressure on yourself and all your friends and family and stuff like that.”

Asking for a trade in this offseason would mean Giannis Antetokounmpo and his wife Mariah Riddlesprigger, and their kids, and the entire Antetokounmpo family, happily settled in Milwaukee, would have to move along with the superstar. As many assume, San Antonio seems like a good prospect, then the family has to move there.

“So I think you should just stay silent. This is a big decision for him coming up—what he’s going to do next in his career. He’s been in Milwaukee forever, so leaving is going to leave a sour taste in all the fans’ mouths,” Dwight Howard concluded.

Speaking of San Antonio, the Spurs acquired the second spot in the draft after the Dallas Mavericks won the 2025 Draft Lottery not too long ago. And this seems to be opening new doors for the Greek superstar to explore.

What’s your perspective on:

Will Giannis leaving Milwaukee be a betrayal or a necessary step for his career growth?

Cooper Flagg’s possible NBA fate could help Giannis Antetokounmpo in finding his next landing spot

The Giannis sweepstakes might just heat this offseason. The Greek Freak is reportedly open to a trade, and that puts teams like the Spurs in the spotlight. With enough assets and serious financial muscle, they could go all in. San Antonio already made noise by chasing De’Aaron Fox in February. Now, with Victor Wembanyama recovering from DVT ahead of schedule and flashing elite potential, the stakes just got higher as the Spurs might be done waiting.

Analyst Kyle Mann believes Rutgers star Dylan Harper could be their golden ticket. Harper’s positional size, versatility, and raw talent make him an immediate fit. He could grow alongside a star or serve as a key trade chip. While Harper may not match Flagg’s ceiling, he belongs in the top-pick conversation. If the Spurs want to pair him with Wemby and Fox, it’s doable. If they want to flip him for Giannis Antetokounmpo, it’s tempting.

Milwaukee, in this bold scenario, could get a solid restart. Devin Vassell’s 5-year $135 million, Stephon Castle’s 4-year $41 million, and Keldon Johnson’s 4-year $74 million could headline the package. Add in draft picks, and you’re opening a door worth approximately $250 million. That’s serious capital for a franchise looking to reset. If the Spurs want to build around Wemby, Fox, and Giannis, the moment is now.
