The two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo has a bundle of superbly talented siblings in the NBA. While Giannis and Thanasis play for the Milwaukee Bucks, the youngest brother Alex plays for their G League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd. Like his eldest brother, Alex’s sheer physicality and his ability to finish at the rim have helped him achieve great success.

Alex played 32 games for Wisconsin in the last season and had an average of 5.8 points per game. As he is displaying magic again in the G League, his veteran brother could not stand behind to congratulate him.

Alex Antetokounmpo featured in the top ten voting leaders for the G League All-Star game as of January 8, 2014. He held the ninth spot. This made his brother share the news in his Instagram story. He tagged his brother and captioned it with fire and folded hands emojis. But it was not the first time that he got praise from his veteran brother. Giannis told Bleacher Report in 2019, “I definitely think Alex can be better than me. He stays motivated. He wants this. That’s what makes him special. He’s not satisfied.”
Alex is from Greece and plays as a forward for the G League affiliate of the Bucks. In the 2023-24 season, he averaged 5.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 0.8 assists. Earlier he had stints playing for UCAM Murcia of Liga ACB and Raptors 905. He was waived off as an affiliate player and has since been in the camp of Wisconsin Herd. In September 2023, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reported that if Alex spent at least 60 days with Herd, he would get a bonus of $75000 that allowed the Bucks to retain G-League rights after he was waived off by the Bucks.

Kostas was drafted by the 76ers and went on to play for the Mavericks, Bulls, and Lakers. He is currently playing in Greece for Panathinaikos. Surrounded by his star brother, Alex decided to step foot on the hardwood in Europe and reflected on the same, “I am sure that my decision to play in Europe is the best choice. It will help me in my plan to prepare myself in the best possible way. So, when I feel ready to take the next step, I will be totally prepared for the NBA.”
