Coach Prime hardly gets it wrong. That’s why when he mentions a name or discusses an issue, it becomes a call-out. Deion Sanders recently renewed an old MVP race with his insightful thoughts. He found a votary in the form of a three-time NBA All-Star.

Despite Joel Embiid winning the MVP award last year, the debates and discussions are still refusing to die down. Sanders has now sparked a new spirit in it.

Who’s the real MVP?

As Deion puts it, when you sit there to watch a game between two MVP contenders, you want the hype to match the game. Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid were expected to go head-to-head to stake their claim. But Embiid sitting out in one of the games could not be taken kindly by Deion Sanders and Gilbert Arenas.

The three-time All-Star did not mince words. Though he believes Embiid to be better than Jokic, he wanted him to prove it on the court. And finally, when Embiid and Jokic faced each other, the former had a 47-point game to stake his claim on his first MVP award.

Had Jokic won his third MVP, he would have become the only player to equal Larry Bird’s record.

To this day some people believe that Jokic lost out on his third MVP award because of the media narrative created against him. It could not be farther from the truth.

Inside Joel Embiid camp

The 76ers had accrued draft picks and gained two stalwarts in Embiid and Ben Simmons. But with many shows in the playoffs and some calamitous results, the process seems to be all but dead. After Ben Simmons and the 76ers fall out, and Ben forcing his way out of Philadelphia lead to James Harden’s arrival, some respite was expected. But nothing seems to change for the better in the city of brotherly love.

The three-time Champion, Danny Green, states that Joel Embiid is this generation’s Shaq. A Shaq with a jump shot and a good free throw percentage. But who is going to be this Shaq’s Kobe or D Wade?
