One fine day, an era that ruled for almost 2 decades might just enter into history as retirement bells get closer for the NBA’s golden trio, but the community isn’t ready to hear them. So when the news broke about Stephen Curry taking on an assistant GM role at NCAA’s Davidson College, it caught everyone off guard. Naturally, everyone started wondering, was the Warriors leader planning to hang up his boots already? While they were still scratching their heads for clarification, a Warriors insider dropped some lesser-known details. Curious?

On the latest episode of Run It Back, the crew had a special guest, Anthony Slater, who was ready to spill all the beans. And, of course, the conversation turned to Curry. So, he shared, “Steve Kerr joked it was, like, that it was a ceremonial title.” Confused? Don’t worry, he broke it down with a detailed explanation to clear things up.

“He’s giving a lot of money to Davidson, and I think if any potential recruit wants to call Steph Curry and ask his advice, Steph Curry can maybe lock down a couple commits. Right? ‘Hey. You know? You should go there. You’re gonna get all my gear. I’ll come to practices when I can’ or whatever and shake your hand, and ‘You played where I played.’ That probably will get a couple better recruits,” Slater mentioned. “But as Steve Kerr joked, he’s not gonna suddenly leave the team, the Warriors for four days because he needs to go scout, you know, some high school and college games.”

So, Curry doesn’t have to do the heavy duties. His presence in the role will help boost recruitment at Davidson, which makes sense given the personality he is. That’s why his name was associated, not because he’s leaving the franchise. “So it’s a little bit of that. He’s not actually doing the GM work and building the roster and, like I said, grinding tape on who they should get,” Slater added. Heard that, Dub Nation? Now you can breathe a sigh of relief.

After clearing up Stephen Curry’s new role, Slater also provided an update on one of the most talked-about topics for the Warriors—Jonathan Kuminga.

Besides Stephen Curry, Insider provides update on Jonathan Kuminga’s possible return

“the most complicated question.” “To me, (he) appeared to be a soft target with Charlotte on the last road trip. He had a three-on-three workout in Philadelphia, and I was in the, gym afterwards,”

What’s your perspective on:

Could Curry's ceremonial role at Davidson mean he's eyeing a future beyond the NBA?

Have an interesting take?

Slater recalled the incident “And you could tell the ankle was still bothering him. He was grabbing at it, talking to the trainers. I saw him that night after the game in Philly, which he didn’t play in, obviously, but he was still icing his ankle postgame. There’s just been some residual swelling. So this last stage of of rehab has just taken longer than they thought.”

However, the wait may be over, as he provided a potential return date for the young star.

“They kind of projected he might be back around last week, but I could see him Thursday night,” the insider stated.

So, finally, Kuminga could make his return to the lineup against the Kings, and it will definitely be interesting to see how Kerr uses him. What do you think about the 22-year-old’s fit in the current squad? Share your thoughts with us!
