The Golden State Warriors are struggling to win this season. Not only is their overall roster of players underperforming, but even their core team members like Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green have been disappointing. The only player who has been performing well for the Warriors is their cornerstone, Stephen Curry. This has led to rumors which suggest that the Dubs are going to rebuild their roster around Curry and get players who will complement his game style. And as the trade deadline is very close, reports suggest that the player they are open to trade is the former All-Star, Andrew Wiggins.

According to NBA analyst, Jake Weinbach, the Warriors might make a deal involving Wiggins with the Indiana Pacers. The analyst suggested that the salary of Andrew Wiggins is exactly as much as the two Pacers players, Buddy Hield and Jaylen Smith which is $24.3M. This prospective trade might change the situation for both teams, giving the Pacers a significant asset in Wiggins and the Warriors a dangerous duo of shooters.

Buddy Hield will be an incredible addition to the Warriors due to his offensive prowess. He has the reputation of a deadeye shooter and due to that, he will seamlessly blend with Dub’s existing sharpshooters, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson.

If this deal takes place, they will be a formidable trio which can cause a lot of difficulties for the opposition. As for Jalen Brown, he would most likely have a bench role and add value and depth to the frontcourt of the Warriors. However, being out of form the whole season, what can the Warriors expect to get in return for Wiggins if this deal does not work out?

According to rumors, there is also a possibility that Wiggins might reunite with the Warrior’s former assistant coach, Mike Brown in the Sacramento Kings. However, according to The Athletic’s Anthony Slater, the trade package being offered by the Kings might not be what the Dubs are looking for. Slater suggests that Wiggins is a possible buy-low option due to the significant drop in his output this season.

Despite scoring 18.3 points per game during the 2022 NBA Finals, Wiggins is now averaging just 12.3 points per game, which is the lowest of his career. And due to the drop in productivity, clubs will try to acquire him at a lower cost. So, now the Warriors have to decide whether to let go of Wiggins for a low cost and improve their roster or wait for him to regain his form.
