What does LeBron James love as much as basketball? Tacos! He takes Taco Tuesdays very seriously. And his sons won’t leave a single opportunity to make fun of his love for tacos. So what did Bronny and Bryce do? The James brothers ditched their mother’s cooking and decided to sneak out to Taco Bell instead.

Bryce uploaded a video of him alongside his big brother Bronny on Instagram with the caption, “Secret mission #tacobellpartner.” The video looked more like a homemade commercial for the iconic brand. We can see Bronny planning to ditch the leftover tacos in their fridge, and go to Taco Bell instead.

Bronny said, “It’s Taco Tuesday. Just got back from school. Only thing on my mind is a taco. Mom got some leftovers in the fridge, but not this time” while he laid out his master plan. They even apologized in advance for the same and sneaked out of the house and into their car.

In the video, after placing their order, the 19-year-old spoke about the imposing danger waiting for them, if they get caught. “If Dad finds out that we went to Taco Bell on Tuesday, he is gonna kill us.” Despite the boys trying their best to go unnoticed, the parents caught a whiff of their antics later on!

Their video caught LeBron James and their mother Savannah’s attention. The superstar couple shared the video on their IG stories. In response to the secret mission, LBJ light-heartedly replied, “Guess who found out!” with a flurry of laughing emojis on his story. The superstar indeed had a funny moment at home, and it only goes to show how serious the James family is about tacos.

LeBron James doesn’t just love tacos, but he fought for it!

There are multiple videos of LeBron James online, expressing his love for their Taco Tuesday ritual. The videos often featured the superstar asking his family members, “What day it is?” with them replying, “Taco Tuesday!!!” in a distinguished style. While this has been on the frontline for the public eye, he has fought for it, behind the screen.

In May 2023, James joined Taco Bell to end the trademark registration of the ‘Taco Tuesday’ phrase. Taco John has owned the trademark of the phrase in 49 states since 1989.

Speaking about that, King James said, “Taco Tuesday’ is a tradition that everyone should be able to celebrate. All restaurants, all families, all businesses–everybody… ‘Taco Tuesdays’ create opportunities that bring people together in so many ways, and it’s a celebration that nobody should own.”

However, back in 2019, the NBA player himself tried to own it. He even made and sold ‘It’s Taco Tuesday’ T-shirts and later on his company made attempts to trademark the popular phrase. But a spokesman for James cleared up that the step was taken so that James wouldn’t be sued for using that phrase.

Taco John was surely unhappy with this move. “When it comes right down to it, we’re lovers, not fighters, at Taco John’sBut when a big, bad bully threatens to take away the mark our forefathers originated so many decades ago, well, that just rings hollow to us. If ‘living más’ means filling the pockets of Taco Bell’s army of lawyers, we’re not interested,” Taco John’s CEO Jim Creel said back then.

So while LeBron James tried to save the tradition, his sons hilariously broke it for a bite from Taco Bell! But it looks like the love for tacos is mutual.
