“Golden state actually got worse this offseason lmaoo.” Sometimes, a fan’s sentiment sums up the entire mood of the franchise. The Warriors are yet to make a move while other teams are adding players left, right, and center. Why the delay, though? Well, every report suggests that Jonathan Kuminga’s uncertainty in this free agency has put a stop to Dub Nation’s future plans… Yet during this uncertain time, one player is bringing in all the hope with his latest social media activity.
He isn’t Superman. Instead, he is Robin to Stephen Curry’s Batman. Yes, Jimmy Butler seems to be back from his different escapades during the offseason. For instance, just days ago, YouTuber Faze Rug showcased his candid personality where the Warriors forward was not shy about answering their weirdest questions like: “Does Steph smell good?” Or when he had to answer, “You versus Devin Booker?”
“Devin Booker, 11-0,” Butler said. But what is the NBA player put to now? Well, he is back to hooping. That’s right! The delay from the Warriors front office has been going on for such a long time that the players are apparently done with their vacations, and so the 35-year-old was backing shooting with a trusted advisor.

Adam Harrington, who is a coach and also helps train Jimmy Butler, was also part of the Instagram update that the Warriors star shared. Dressed in a black T-shirt, Harrington watched on as Butler hooped. He was closely monitoring and explaining a new move to Butler to add to his bag before the player’s year two with the Dubs. Michigan basketball’s Mike Smith was also present and practicing with Butler. It wasn’t a full-fledged practice session, but a simple shoot-around as the star forward gets some of the reps back.

In fact, Butler was so elated that he shared as many as 22 stories from the practice session! He donned a powder blue and white tracksuit from Li-Ning, a Chinese sports brand.

For now, it seems like Jimmy Butler is looking to add more skills to his arsenal, instead of simply watching other franchises make additions or take away their shortlisted player. In the past few months, he was in the UK, where he did some shopping as per his social media update, and then later in Italy, where he tasted some great wine, but now he is back!

Per Brett Siegel of Clutch Points, the Warriors have a handshake agreement with both their free agency targets, Horford and De’Anthony Melton. “Al Horford and De’Anthony Melton are widely expected to sign with the Warriors, sources said. A handful of teams at NBA Summer League stated Horford and Melton already have verbal agreements in place with Golden State.” But there have been no significant updates in recent weeks regarding this deal’s progression.

The Warriors, entering the last phase of Stephen Curry’s illuminating career, can’t see another heartbreak list in the last season. However, unlike the situation in Golden State, teams are stacking up on free agents. The most recent one was Lindy Waters III. The 27-year-old will join the San Antonio Spurs, as Shams Charania broke the news. He would have been a great fit for the Dub Nation, especially with his 39.5% from the three-point range in 14 games with the Detroit Pistons last season. Plus, his defensive ability is also a quality that the Warriors are looking for.
After losing Kevon Looney to the Pelicans, the Warriors’ need for a reliable center is more than ever right now. The right rim protector can help them build the team around the offence of Jimmy Butler and Stephen Curry. But that again depends on how the team actually handles the entire Jonathan Kuminga situation. But to make matters more worrisome, there is also an impending question about HC Steve Kerr’s future with the team. With a lot of What-if’s, it is understandable what the Dub Nation is going through. But they will have to hold on tight until a resolution comes. What do you think?
