For the New Orleans Pelicans Zion Williamson was at the top slot with 30 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. J. Valanciunas chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 assist in his 26-minute play. L. Nance Jr. and CJ McCollum added 13 and 12 points respectively. But the rising from the ashes alone was not the main theme of the game. Jokic’s stunts on the hardwood too were the center of attention.
Nikola Jokic’s crafts memorable moments
Jokic was good enough to pile points for the team. But he was more interested in doing it in style. And Malone was more interested in drawing historical comparisons about Jokic head turning pass, “I didn’t imagine the behind-the-back, over-the-head pass. When you’re a young kid watching NBA basketball, that’s Magic Johnson, that’s `Pistol’ Pete Maravich, the guys that just had this pizazz to their game. Nikola can beat you a lot of ways and that was definitely one of the best passes I’ve seen him make.”
