Ahead of the 2023 postseason, AD had a tough time recovering from a foot injury. He missed the majority of the games in that season. And it looked like the Lakers were nowhere closer to claim a spot in the postseason. At that time, Lil Wayne dropped a harsh statement on Davis in an Undisputed episode. He said, “If the Lakers want to be a championship team in the future as well, you gotta get rid of AD,”

However, the rapper’s words didn’t age well, as AD played a crucial role in the Lakers’ playoff run till the Conference Finals, averaging 22 points with 14 rebounds.
