“Dame is a classy guy, it comes off as classy. Now is he upset with the Blazers….I think it was smart not to say something, forget the fine from the league but not to say something that could ruin all your goodwill in Portland….I think he handled it with class,” said veteran analyst, Chris Broussard.

“I think Dame has handled this about as well as you can handle it, he’s very different from how I feel Harden’s handled his situation,” stated Nick Wright, following Broussard’s comments. He went on to take jabs at The Beard, saying “Dame also didn’t opt in to a contract with the Blazers six weeks ago and then demand a trade six hours later.”

As the 2023-24 NBA season approaches, the chances of Dame D.O.L.L.A. starting the season with the Blazers are only solidifying. While the Heat stay reluctant on making bold moves to add Lillard to their roster, Blazers stay adamant on getting back the right value. Both parties certainly cannot be considered wrong. However, Lillard might have to do something dramatic to move the needle on both ends.

Lillard’s approach so far has not led to any action. While Harden keeps knocking doors in Philadelphia to get his wish, the Blazers guard maintains his calm approach. However, despite their diplomatic nature, his comments in the interview may have made some noise. This is probably something Lillard can cash in on, without landing himself in trouble.
