The Milwaukee Bucks were on a three-game winning streak, looking to make it four. But for a moment, the Chicago Bulls made it seem impossible for the new super team in the East to get past them. And even with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard in the lineup, the Bucks seemed to struggle a lot.

The Bucks were at full strength, with almost all of their crucial players in the lineup. However, the same cannot be said for the Bulls who were a couple of men short. Yet, the Bucks struggled against a handicapped Bulls side. Here are three takeaways from the game.

1. Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks fall to a shorthanded Bulls

The final two minutes of the fourth quarter between the Bucks and the Bulls seemed to be an absolute dogfight. There was clutch play after clutch play from both teams, leaving the crowd on the edge of their seats. However, what was shocking for fans to see was the fact that the Bucks were not able to close the deal, despite the Bulls not having two of their All-Star guards and leading scorers in the starting lineup.

The Bulls did not have DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine in their starting lineup. Both players are the Bulls’ leading scorers, averaging 20+ PPG so far this season. Yet, the Bucks ended up perishing in front of them.

Nikola Vucevic led the Bulls in scoring with a 29-point performance. He also had 10 rebounds and 6 assists to go along with it. The team also got a huge boost from Coby White, who rose to the occasion with 23 points, 7 assists, and 4 rebounds for the game.

The rest of the Bulls’ starters too finished the game with double-digit points along with three players from the bench.

2. No Dame Time in Chicago

The fourth quarter was where players needed to zone in and come in clutch for their team. Unfortunately, Damian Lillard wasn’t able to do that when his team needed him the most. And the same happened during the overtime period as well.

Lillard had a lackluster game against a Bulls team that did not have their two leading scorers on the floor. Lillard finished the game with a mere 18 points on a 7-16 shooting from the field and going 1-6 from beyond the arc. To add insult to injury, he also had 7 turnovers in the game. And that went on to overshadow the 13 assists that he managed to notch in this matchup. He also had 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block, but it was his scoring that the team needed the most, which he failed to provide.

3. The Bulls put on a show of strength and resilience for the league

After Alex Caruso tied the game at 106-106 with a buzzer-beating three, the Chicago Bulls carried momentum into overtime and won the game 120-113. The Bulls managed to force the game into overtime where the Windy City locked in and kept the pressure on the Bucks. The Bulls put on a display to show the league that even though they did not have their All-Star duo they were still a team with enough good players to cause an upset. It was the team’s bench depth and versatility that led them to win the game.

Moreover, eight out of 10 Bulls players scored in double-digits. But it was the Bulls bench that turned out to be a huge plus for the team when they needed it the most. Chicago went on to hand the Bucks their sixth loss of the season.
