A week stands between the flock of prospects and an NBA dream. As the judgment day inches closer, all eyes are mostly fixated on Bronny James, the son of LeBron James. He is probably the most talked-about prospect from the class because of the absence of a clear pick or standout talent. These talks have been boosted due to his agent, Rich Paul’s openness as well. The Klutch Sports CEO hasn’t spared any detail regarding his limited workouts or the teams that the teenager could fit into well.

It’s unusual to see such transparency from agents. Generally, information is kept concealed to the public and the conversations with teams are certainly internal affairs. However, Paul is of the opinion that his outspoken conversation concerning Bronny James doesn’t affect anything.

“I know most guys in my position don’t really go on the record and speak about things. Everybody plays a different game. I play my cards face down in most cases. But in some instances, like this situation, I don’t mind playing the cards face up. I’m very matter of fact. In a lot of situations, it’s not much gray; it’s pretty black and white. And this stuff, it’s just harmless. It’s black and white, so I don’t mind talking about it.” Paul told The Ringer.

Paul has been ruthless when talking about the notion of having Bronny James as part of a package to lure LeBron James. For the star agent, he wants to find the perfect opportunity for his few clients in the draft. That’s his only priority, as he told The Ringer. And accordingly, he has named some teams publicly when speaking about Bronny.

Paul discusses teams that are after Bronny James

As mentioned, Rich Paul has been very open about his client’s interest around the NBA. The Lakers are in without question because he is LeBron James’ son. But Paul has said it before, he doesn’t care if Bronny gets to play with his father or not. When speaking about teams other than the Purple and Gold, there seem to be a few that have looked at the 3 and D wing closely.

According to Paul, “There are other teams that love Bronny. For example, Minnesota, Dallas, Toronto. If it’s not the Lakers, it will be someone else”.  The three teams have something that favors Bronny’s needs. Mavericks have a well-established tandem which gives the 19-year-old a chance to do the small tasks and elevate the NBA finalists. Raptors have a history of player development and are a relatively young core who will invite youngsters like Bronny James. Wolves have the best defense and James would simply fit into the culture of playing tenacious and intense defense.

The closer the draft approaches, it seems like Bronny James will definitely be drafted. He impressed scouts and teams during the draft combine in Chicago and his draft stock has been on an aggressive rise since. With multiple teams interested, where do you think the USC alumnus fits best?
