Selected as the 16th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets, Alperen Sengun initially took a backseat to Jalen Green in Houston’s acquisitions. However, his playmaking abilities swiftly garnered recognition, elevating his status. The 21-year-old is a breath of fresh air for the Rockets, who have been struggling in obscurity since only star player James Harden left in 2021.

The Rockets are currently the 7th seed in the west which is far better than last season as they finished second last in the Conference. Sengun was the guest on the latest episode of ‘Podacast P’ with Paul George. Apart from charting his gradual upward trajectory in the NBA, he discussed how he struggled with the English language initially. However, gradually he got a command over it. Interestingly, he divulges learning cuss words from his Rockets teammates.

“Josh Christopher was teaching me a lot of things, and he knows a lot of, you know, shi**y words,” said Sengun. He further added. “You know, like, even you can hear it anywhere, but he was talking all the time, you know? Yeah, Jayen, I can say Jayen taught me a lot of stuff too, yeah.” It seems like the Turk has implicated his teammates in teaching him cuss words. However, what he exactly learned is still a mystery.

Meanwhile, things are looking up for the Sengun, as many in the league are comparing him to Nikola Jokic.
