During the previous season, the Miami Heat had occupied the 8th seed on the points chart but still managed to defeat the top-seeding teams and advance all the way to the NBA Finals. One year later, the franchise is looking to repeat the same success after securing a spot in the Playoffs. However, a significant obstacle in their way is the Boston Celtics, who may still resent how things went during last year’s Eastern Conference Finals. With Jimmy Butler being out of the picture, the pressure to carry the offensive load falls on other players like Duncan Robinson and Terry Rozier. Unfortunately, a recent update will not appeal Miami fans who were hoping for good news.

According to the Injury Report released by the Miami Heat before their playoffs game, shooting guard Terry Rozier remains ‘OUT’ of the main lineup. The 30-year-old, known for possessing a remarkable ‘clutch gene’ and being a significant contributor on the offensive side, has been dealing with neck spasms for quite some time now. As a result, he occasionally appeared on the report. While his status used to be listed as ‘Questionable’, the player still managed to make an appearance and perform phenomenally. However, the situation worsened for him a couple of weeks ago. As a result, he had missed out on the Heat’s final four regular season clashes and is now set to be out for the first playoff game.

Small forward Duncan Robinson’s status has shifted from ‘Probable’ to ‘Questionable’. The player suffered from various ailments during his NBA career, with his thumb, groin, shoulder and ankle being injured at separate points of time. After he injured his back almost a month ago, Robinson continued playing with no visible discomfort. However, his injury worsened and he was sidelined for five games. He returned during the Heat’s final regular season game after his status was shifted from ‘OUT’ to ‘Probable’. While Robinson is not 100% sidelined from the Celtics faceoff, his availability is also not fully confirmed.

Fortunately for the Boston Celtics, they are as far as they can be in being in the same boat as their rivals. Their Injury Report has only one player listed as ‘OUT’: 28-year-old center Luke Kornet. This means that the golden duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, whose combined season average comes up to 49.9 points, will be present alongside the others at the TD Garden in Massachusetts.

How have Terry Rozier and Duncan Robinson performed against the Boston Celtics?

Terry Rozier and Duncan Robinson have competed against the Celtics 14 times during their NBA careers. Their performance, however, has varied during the same.

Terry Rozier has established an average score of 16.6 points, 5.1 assists, and 3.3 rebounds during his matchups. Robinson has yet to touch that level, as he only averaged 11.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists. Both players had recorded their highest points against Boston during the 2021-22 season, as Robinson scored 22 in two consecutive games while Rozier scored 28 back in January 2022.

The Celtics defeated the Heat the last time they met back in February. Both Rozier and Robinson ended the night scoring 13 and 15 points, respectively. Their effort helped Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo to put up a combined score total of 106, which fell just four points short of their rival’s 110. Despite losing, the matchup served as an example of just how useful the duo can be when given the chance to shine. Even if Robinson makes an appearance within the next few hours, the absence of Rozier, combined with that of Butler, will not work well for last year’s finals qualifying team.
