The Minnesota Timberwolves have started the 2023-24 season on fire. They currently are perched at the top of the Western Conference standings, having won 20 games and losing just 5 games. One of the key reasons behind their incredible start is Anthony Edwards. The 22-year-old has become the main man in Minnesota, and his exceptional displays have paved the way for Minnesota’s success.

However, off the hardwood, Edwards finds himself embroiled in a controversy. Popular TV host Stephen A. Smith recently chimed in with his thoughts regarding the controversy surrounding the talented young guard.

When talking on his THE STEPHEN A. SMITH SHOW, the analyst shared, “He’s in the news for the wrong reasons. He’s publicly walking back comments he made to a woman which appears to urge her to have an abortion.” Yesterday, stories emerged about Edwards getting an Instagram model pregnant, Paige Jordae. She took to Instagram to share their alleged text conversation. In the text messages, Edwards urged Jordae to consider undergoing an abortion, and he went as far as transferring $100,000 to Jordae to follow through with the abortion.

Following the allegations, Edwards put out an official statement. The statement read, “I made comments in the heat of a moment that are not me, and that are not aligned with what I believe and who I want to be as a man. All women should be empowered to make their own decisions about their bodies and what is best for them. I am handling my personal matters privately and will not be commenting on them any further at this time.” He would like to leave this episode in the past and focus on basketball. While Edwards is facing problems off the court, he has performed at an elite level on the court.
