Since 2015, LeBron James and Golden State Warriors have been engaged in an intense battle. The rivalry started with The King‘s Cleveland Cavaliers days and stretched to his Los Angeles Lakers time. There have been several epic moments in this saga but his former teammate recently discussed one that stands out.

LeBron James has been the Warriors’ greatest nightmare in the playoffs. His heroics in the 2016 NBA Finals haunt Warriors fans to this day. However, off the court, The Chosen One has nothing but respect and admiration for the Warriors players. Recently, James was seen singing along to Brent Faiyaz in Toronto along with the Warriors forward, Draymond Green. However, years before this, he took his rivalry with Green and the Warriors so seriously that it lit a spark in him during the Finals.

LeBron James has proved that there is no limit to what he can do on the basketball court. Over the span of more than 20 years, James has asserted his dominance over the league, making an unbelievable career for himself. His intensity however, played a significant role throughout his journey.

The Cleveland Cavaliers met Dub Nation in the Finals 4 times in a row in the late 2010s. During this epic saga, James’ former teammate, Quinn Cook witnessed one of the most unreal moments up close. He discussed the same during a podcast appearance.

Game one of the Finals when I played with the Warriors. We played his team, Cleveland, and I’ll never forget it because I was his rookie but I remember him and Draymond got into it,” Cook mentioned.

He went on to add, “And he comes over and Draymond had hit him in the eye and his eye was like bloodshot red and he said, ‘Quinn, you better tell him to chill’. Man, he ran off like 13, 14 straight and after his last three, he shot it from Steph range and he look at me like ‘I told you'”.

Cook explained how James activated his Stephen Curry mode to torch the Warriors in the matchup. However, James’ rivalry with the Warriors has seen such moments on several occasions.

LeBron James has held up the reputation of being one of the greatest performers in the playoffs in NBA history. The Kid From Akron leads the NBA all time in not just points scored in the regular season but in the playoffs too. Naturally, when the Warriors faced a man of this stature in the playoffs 5 times, they witnessed the wrath of The King.

James may have had some phenomenal achievements over his tenured career but nothing matches his accomplishment in 2016. Down 3-1 in the Finals, the Cavaliers thought they were staring down the barrel of another Finals heartbreak. Then came a LeBron James masterclass.

James put up a heroic stretch of performances in the next 3 games, snatching victory from the jaws of defeat. He propelled the team to win the next 3 games on the trot to lift their first ever NBA championship. However, The King did not stop there.
