“Hornets Own Jayson Tatum”: Fans Brutally Troll Celtics Star After PJ Washington Claps Back at Bold Statement

The 13th seed Charlotte Hornets defeated the top seeder Boston Celtics in the NBA clash tonight. The final score stood at 121-118, in favor of the Hornets. Jayson Tatum put up a splendid display for the Celtics but fell three points short. Tatum scored 45 points, with 13 rebounds, and 6 assists in his 44 minutes spell.

On the other hand, LaMelo Ball sailed the ship for the Hornets. Ball scored 35 points, in the Hornets’ winning cause. The Hornets unexpectedly silenced the table toppers of the East. They also ended their six-match winning streak. After the match, Hornets’ PJ Washington mocked Jayson Tatum in a hilarious manner.

During a summer camp a few months back, Tatum, took a dig at the Hornets. He was seen motivating a couple of youngsters and said he does not sit while playing the Hornets on some Monday, as there will be kids wearing his shirt. Tatum claimed that it is not what the best players do. Needless to say, his remarks portrayed the Hornets as the weaker side.

After winning against the Celtics, and Tatum, Hornets’ PJ Washington was seen addressing the media while heading back to the dressing room. He was jumping in excitement.

In an Instagram video put up by the ‘charlottehornetsonly’, Washington is heard saying, “Not bad for a Monday night on League Pass”. People burst out laughing after this, as it clearly threw a massive shade at the Celtics star.

Fans react hilariously to Washington’s move

There were mixed reactions from the fans, but most reacted hilariously. One fan wrote, “Hornets own @jaytatum0, on League Pass.”

This was inevitable, though. We all saw it coming. In this highly competitive NBA, one can never belittle a team and get away with it. You might be a world-beater, but the underdogs can block your path anytime.

Throwback to the video attached above, it is speculated that the officials came up with the schedule purposely. The schedule of placing a Celtics vs Hornets match on a Monday. Well, it is possible. Coming back to the video, in whatever sense it was told, it does send out a bad message. Especially to the young players out there.

Another fan commented, “Tatum should’ve known that was gonna come back and haunt him.”

On the other hand, someone wrote, “still gonna be the 13th seed,” taking a dig at the Hornets.

Yes indeed, the Hornets are 13th seed, but they are going to garner massive confidence after defeating the top seeders. Won’t be surprised if they start climbing up the ladder after this.
