The Golden State Warriors’ head coach, Steve Kerr, has recently agreed to a two-year contract extension worth $35 million. This new deal solidifies Kerr as the highest-paid head coach in the NBA, receiving an annual salary of $17.5 million. While Gregg Popovich earns more annually, it’s worth noting that he also serves as the president of the San Antonio Spurs.

Following closely is Erik Spoelstra, the Miami Heat’s head coach, who secured the league’s second-highest coaching salary with an annual income of $15 million after signing an eight-year extension earlier in the season.

Kerr’s contract extension aligns with the Warriors’ commitment to their championship core. Stephen Curry, a cornerstone player, is under contract with Golden State until 2026, having signed a historic four-year, $215 million extension in the summer of 2021. This landmark deal made Curry the first player ever to ink two $200 million contracts in his career.

Additionally, Draymond Green is embarking on the first year of his own four-year, $100 million contract, signed during the past summer. This extension enables Kerr to earn more than many superstars in the NBA.

With this extention Kerr will now be earning more than legit NBA superstars like Anthony Edwards, Austin Reaves, Jordan Clarkson, Lauri Markannen, and 496 other players in the league. Ant man has yearly salary of around $13,534,817 while Markkanen has around $17 million. However it’s less than the Dubs head coach.

Only five Warrior players have a higher annual salary than Kerr – their franchise star Stephen Curry who earns around $51 million yearly. Other stars are Andrew Wiggins, Chris Paul, Green and former Warrior Jordan Poole.
