Despite the playoff buzz in the NBA world, the debate on LeBron James’ future with the LA Lakers still tops the chart. Many insiders and reporters dropped plenty of analogies, predicting the superstar’s future. But none of them seem to give a concrete opinion on James’ pending player option. However, a recent update on Akron Hammer‘s new luxury house might tie down the superstar on the Purple & Gold side.

In the latest episode of NightCap, Shannon Sharpe brought in a new angle to the debate. While the insiders and fans depended on Bronny’s draft to determine the legend’s extension in LA, Sharpe opened up a unique angle with James’ upcoming multi-million dollar house. He said, “He ain’t going nowhere… Who builds a $100 million house and then leave?” There seems to be no other update on the house, which is under construction, except for a statement by ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.

LeBron James, who has a net worth of over $1 billion, already has $100 million worth of multiple mansions scattered across the country. Notably, two of them are already located in LA. He bought a $37 million mansion in Beverley Hills, which was purchased from William and Lee Phillip Bell. However, he sidelined all of his previous purchases with his own $100 million creation.

Speaking of the house, Brian Windhorst said, “LeBron is building a $100 million compound in Beverly Hills… I think LeBron loves being here and his family is here,” during his appearance on First Take. Moreover, he also sided with Shannon Sharpe’s opinion, that King James would stay with the LA side. Windhorst added, “He like to win another championship with the Lakers… he loves being here. He loves the life.”

Nevertheless, Sharpe’s opinion was immediately countered by his podcast partner Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson. As soon as Sharpe made his point, Chad said, “He is building a $100 million house, right? But, when it comes to someone like that, with that kind of money. That really don’t mean nothing.”

Will LeBron James re-sign with the Lakers?

This has been the only question that has been revolving around the NBA world over the last 30 days. And, there are plenty of rumors and analogies for and against the superstar’s extension with the LA side. While Sharpe said that LeBron James will stick with the Lakers because of his $100 million house, he had a different opinion, a week back.

During one of the previous episodes of the NightCap podcast, he pointed out the inability of the Lakers front office to develop a young talent in the last few years. Sharpe even listed the names of the players, who couldn’t stay in the side past their rookie season. Following that, he claimed that James and agent Rich Paul would opt for a different franchise in order to focus more on Bronny’s development as a professional baller.

The renowned NBA analyst Sharpe himself had two opinions in a few days. So the update on James’ player option still stays unanswered. However, James himself dropped a request to his fans, who have been searching for answers with a straightforward post after the playoff exit. He wrote, “I’ve seen, heard a lot of reports about my future. I said it last night and I’ll say it again. I do not know yet as I’m only thinking about spending time with my family & friends! When I know after speaking with the fam, my counsel as.”

What do you think of Sharpe’s different takes on James’ future? Let us know in the comments.
