Zion Williamson amazed college folks with his electric dunks. Despite carrying a heavy frame, the Pelicans forward glide across the air akin to a bird. Every rim-shaking dunk grew the urge of wanting to watch Williamson during the dunk contest. Well, the moment is finally here and it came during the Jordan brand’s China tour. However, it’s not the sort of athleticism one would expect from the former Blue Devil.

As part of the tour, Williamson, Palo Banchero, Jayson Tatum, and Luka Doncic traveled to China. The aim is to cultivate a love for the game and grow the global influence of the sport. One of the things the acclaimed stars did was host youth camps, where Zion Williamson was hit with a demand. He was asked to do a unique dunk.

It started with the 24-year-old on the floor. He proceeded to spin, all while not losing control of the basketball. Then on getting up, he finished the motion with a 180-degree dunk, drawing a large cheer from the crowd present. The clip released by Overtime termed it as “Zion breakdancing into a reverse dunk”. Likewise, the NBA community had their fun.

Zion Williamson brings out the creativity of the fans

From Overtime’s ‘breakdancing’ claims, the fans immediately connected the dunk to Australia’s Ray Gunn. The jokes were a common theme among the community. One fan even wrote, He breakdances better than #RayGunn”

Gunn became the subject of severe criticism during her participation at the Paris Olympics. Her routine was almost laughed at, with fans trolling the breakdancer relentlessly on social media. She was knocked out in the round-robin stage, earning 0 points from the judges for her performance.

Other fans were less shocked by the dunk and more astonished by the weight cut of Zion Williamson. The Pelicans stalwart appeared visibly slimmer and the NBA fraternity has envisioned a dangerous season incoming for the 24-year-old. “Boy lost a couple pounds league not ready” a comment read.

The pictures of a trimmed-down Zion Williamson only came out a few weeks ago while he hosted his camp. Upon looking at his transformation, several credible names were left impressed. Carmelo Anthony said he looks to be in the ‘best shape of his life’. Stephen A. Smith, one of his general prosecutors claimed the league should be scared.

Some alarm bells also went off though. See, after performing the acrobatic dunk, Williamson was seen holding his back. Some fans felt it was an early onset of another injury. “Raygun level break dancing. And it looked like he hurt his back after the dunk” a fan expressed said expressing his concern.

From the looks of it, it didn’t seem to be as serious. After rising for the dunk, it seemed Williamson’s t-shirt got caught up in his mic that was attached to his shorts. It looked like he was simply adjusting his attire, and not wincing in pain due to a bad back. Rest assured, Pelicans fans can breathe a sigh of relief.

His array of dribbling moves and athleticism naturally came to the notice of fans. Not only had it been long since they had seen the colossal forward hoop, but this seemed to be an improved version of him to them. One of the fans felt he could become a “Future Globetrotter”.

That’s still unknown, but there is a chance that he will compete in the dunk contest during the All-Star weekend. When speaking about it in March, Zion Williamson accepted the fans’ demands, but there was one condition. He has to be and play in the All-Star game. Luckily, looking at his incredible body transformation and confident spirit, it seems to be a realistic goal for the upcoming season.
