The NBA has always differentiated winners from losers based on one’s desire to make a comeback and stay in the game. In a month-old interview with Marc J. Spears of Andscape,?Simmons candidly shared his mindset and struggles. As eyed a resurgence during the upcoming campaign, he mentioned, ?I feel I?m at 100% now”.?The Australian expressed his desire to “come back and dominate people,” as the surrounding anticipation escalated rapidly.
Despite these bold statements from the 6’10 guard, Brian thought nothing of it. While discussing the Nets, the sportswriter disregarded any contribution from Ben even in the upcoming season. “I don’t even consider Ben Simmons,” he pointed out in the latest episode of The Hoop Collective.
Windhorst added, “I don’t even know,”?while trying to make sense out of the 3-time All-Star’s presence in the roster. He entirely crossed out Simmon’s importance in the squad as he stood firm on his belief. The 45-year-old highlighted, “You are not gonna be able to trade him,”?hinting at the potential miscalculation from Brooklyn. Despite the harshness, it was not the first time Brian went after Ben, as the duo shared the dynamic previously, too.

The analyst has been taking shots at the former Rookie of the Year for quite some time now. His bitterness became more apparent since the 2016 1st overall pick’s move to New York City. Brian went a bit out of his way to even call his deal “one of the worst 3 contracts in the NBA”?in the past.
His trade move particularly frustrated Windhorst, as his offering to the Nets is little to none. Thus, a constant mockery from the writer’s side has become expected at this stage of the journey. Amidst the criticism, Ben has maintained silence but has not been able to back himself up on the court. The fans’ disappointment towards him stems from his lack of aggression, which he also needs to work on.
