It’s indeed a tough time to be a Dubs fan. The Golden State Warriors have entered a state of emergency following the exit of Klay Thompson. Especially after the recent interview with Steph Curry, hinting at his possible exit too. It’s high time that GSW’s front office figure out a way to continue building the championship team around the Baby-faced Assassin to save the dynasty. Amid this tough situation, a popular Bay Area media veteran urged the team to pursue the Jonathan Kuminga trade to rope in Lauri Markkanen.

Daryle Johnson A.K.A The Guru of the popular radio show, 95.7 The Game created a sense of urgency as he spoke about the Markkanen trade. Featuring alongside The Morning Roast duo and the Willard & Dibs duo in the latest show, Johnson answered an important question: Would you trade Jonathan Kuminga for Lauri Markkanen?

Reacting to the question instantly, he said, “In a Texas second, and I love Jonathan Kuminga and I love his upside. I’m telling you, it’s operation ‘Get help for Steph Curry’. The clock is ticking right now.” To put it precisely, having the 36-year-old on their side is super important to have a crack at the Championship. So, it’s an outcry from Johnson to find a better second fiddle for the 4x NBA Champ.

The Guru further continued, “I don’t have time to watch the flower grow or the seed get planted. I need the plant. That’s what Markkanen is, that’s what Paul George was. And it is just what it is… You hope he blossoms. If you keep Kuminga, then there is no trade and he never ends up being that. It’s a nightmare on Warriors’ dream.”

However, Johnson’s partner, Stein, refused to believe that Markkanen could change the fortune, as he highlighted his age (27) and claimed, If you think Markkanen going to come in here next year you’re going to win a title that’s just preposterous”.

What’s the alarming situation with Steph Curry?

The last thing one could dare to imagine is to witness Steph play for another franchise. Already it would take at least a season to get used to Klay Thompson, donning the Dallas Mavericks jersey. However, the superstar’s recent interview with Yahoo! Sports’ Vincent Goodwill left Bay Area fans gasping for air. Speaking of KT’s exit, Steph revealed how uncertain it can get. Adding to it, he said“I can clearly say I want to be a Warrior for life, that’s always been my goal, and I’m saying that sitting in this chair right now.”

“But like you said, life, and especially life in the NBA, it is a wild environment, and things change quickly.” However, he ended the statement with a tiny bit of positivity when he added, “We’re trying to adapt and evolve, and I’ll let everybody know if that changes, but right now, of course, the goal is always to be to finish my career with one team.”
