The Houston Rockets recently faced off against the Washington Wizards. With both teams currently occupying the bottom seeds on the points table, the pressure to do well is mounting. Despite best efforts by Wizards captain Kyle Kuzma to lead a proper offensive play, the Rockets kept the advantage, not allowing their rivals to get a lead. By the time the 2 quarter concluded, the Rockets had a 31-point lead.

This led team forward Tari Eason, who was absent from the game due to an injury, to take to his official X account and mock Kuzma by writing “It’s like at this point don’t be that team.” Fans might be able to recollect that Eason’s quote was taken word by word from the one put up by Kyle Kuzma back in December 2023. The latter player had engaged in this action while facing off against the Detroit Pistons, who were at that time in the midst of a 27-loss streak.

It didn’t take long for people to react to the post by taking to the comments section. One social user applauded Eason for sending out the tweet in the middle of the game by writing “During the game is INSANE, Tari lmfao but I respect the hustle. MJ once said…” and attaching a clip featuring Michael Jordan.

A Pistons fan who might have understood the reference send his flowers to the 22-year-old by writing “Officially my favorite non-Pistons player”.

Another fan chose to highlight the recently reported rumours that Eason would be traded off by the Rockets within the next few months. He wrote “You better chill out you might be on this team soon!”

Eason had various supporters in the comments section. However, there were others as well who called him out for criticizing Kuzma’s performance while being absent from the game himself. One of them wrote “He wasn’t talking about the rockets though why u pressed..aint like u the one out there playing anyways lol”. Many took the same example as the one above and left comments like “Bench players talking like starters I hate it”, “chill, you’re still out of the play-in” etc.

What are Kyle Kuzma’s stats during the 2023-24 season

The Washington Wizards are delivering some of their most abysmal performance during the ongoing NBA season. However, the fault for the same does not entirely lie with team captain Kyle Kuzma, who has worked during these previous 64 games to significantly improve his scoring average.

During the 2023-24 season, Kuzma has been securing an average of 22.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists. While his average rebounds have reduced from the previous season, his points have increased by 1.3 and his assists by 0.5. Fans have noticed a significant improvement in the player’s free throw percentage as well, which has gone from 73% to 78.7% within the span of one year. The 28-year old’s average has only increased during his last 10 games, with him scoring 25 and above points in at least 6 of those games.
