You’re looking at one of the finest teams ever assembled in the history of the NBA.” These were the words of the Boston Celtics‘ majority owner Wyc Grousbeck, who was the first one to lay his hands on their 2024 NBA championship ring. With the crowd chanting ‘SWEEP!’ as they recalled the thrilling playoffs, it must have been a surreal feeling for everyone present there.

The Championship ring designed by Jason of Beverly Hills in close coordination with the franchise’s ownership has finally been revealed. And it’s beautiful! Like every championship ring, there are a lot of elements that signify different milestones for the team. Stats are not only important for the scouts but for Jason as well! Let us take a look at some stunning details.

The ring is loaded with diamonds to make the Celtics logo on the front. The inner bezel has 16 emerald-cut diamonds which represent their total playoff wins for 2024. Just like the Los Angeles Lakers 2020 ring, this also features a detachable top revealing the Championship banner and the jersey no. of all the players. However, that is not all.

The detachable part has a piece of the home parquet floor, which has the final score of the fateful night when the C’s beat the Dallas Mavericks to win the Championship along with the date.

The ring has all of Boston’s banner years around the perimeter. The parquet floor pattern is etched into the side panel along with the player’s name and the Team Mantra “Whatever it Takes”. Though there is no direct tribute to their household name, Bill Russell, as expected by many, the hoops legend sadly passed away in 2022. That is not all. The ring has many more elements as well.

The outer bezel has 18 diamonds which signify their record-breaking championships won. No points for guessing that right! The side bezel has 84 points of diamonds to represent the win percentage of the C’s in the 2023-24 season.

The inner bezel also has ‘World Champions’ on it. They spell out “World” with 30 diamond points to represent the number of seasons the Celtics have called TD Garden home, while “Champions” is spelled with 80 diamonds to symbolize the 80 combined wins from the regular season and postseason. In all, there are 15 carats of diamonds — representing all 15 Eastern Conference teams!

How much do these diamond-studded NBA Championship Rings cost?

From 1969 to 1983, the NBA commissioned ‘standardized’ Championship rings for the winners. But after 1983, the teams were handed full freedom to create designs of their liking. The NBA is quite generous though, fully covering the cost of these rings, a privilege not granted by any other professional league in the USA.

Although the cost of the rings is not officially revealed, they are estimated to cost between $30,000 to $150,000!

No, I did not make a mistake with the upper limit, that is correct. Jewelers have crafted these rings from premium gold and adorned them with diamonds, sapphires, rubies, and other precious gems to create a lasting impression.

In American pro sports, top jewelers like LG Balfour and Jostens dominate, with Tiffany and Baron Championship Rings also rising in popularity. Baron created the heaviest ring in 2016 for the Cleveland Cavaliers, while the Toronto Raptors also partnered with them for their first NBA title in 2019. The Raptors introduced five different ring styles, with the priciest exceeding $100,000 each and the least expensive, given to 20,000 fans at a flag-raising ceremony, costing an affordable $13!

But brands do not have a monopoly, Jason of Beverly Hills designed and produced the 2024 ring. A new age jeweler, who rose to prominence in the last decade. He also designed the 2020 Lakers ring with the iconic detachable top, which revealed a tribute to Kobe Bryant.
