Even before the Houston Rockets could host the Warriors, the Minnesota Timberwolves shunned the increasingly haughty squad. Now, Anthony Edwards and crew will host the Toronto Raptors tonight in the second leg of a back-to-back. Minnesota (52-23) is just one game away from the West’s top spot while the Raptors (23-52) enter with plans for next year already in motion.

Moreover, they enter the game with a 14-game losing streak, automatically rendering the game’s outcome for the majority of the fans. However, the Wolves recently clinched their playoff berth. With that, questions loom about whether Anthony Edwards will play tonight against the Raptors considering his left middle finger sprain.

Having played significant minutes against the Rockets, chances are Anthony Edwards will play against the Toronto Raptors. Edwards ended the game with complete health, posting 21 points on an off-shooting night (5-16 from the field). Owing to the shooting guard’s 17.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists against the Raptors, his presence would prove essential for the Wolves; more so, with other star players’ uncertain status.

Currently, fans await for the official updates from the Wolves. However, given their latest injury report from yesterday, it seems like Jaylen Clark and Karl-Anthony Towns will remain out of the contest. Clark is battling an Achilles injury while Towns has now been out for a month due to a meniscus surgery.

For the Raptors, they enter the game with massive dents in their squads. Their recent loss saw Scottie Barnes (third metacarpal fracture), Ochai Agbaji (hip contusion), Chris Boucher (MCL partial tear), and Jakob Poeltl (left hand torn) rendered out due to major injuries. With that, there is a huge possibility that their availability will remain the same going forward.

However, D.J. Carton (sprain), Jontay Porter (personal), and Gary Trent Jr. (rest) can mark their returns to the court. Despite a major hole in their roster, the Raptors’ recent game saw the return of RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley, who posted 28 and 20 points respectively. With that, one can expect more rotational pieces added to their lineup in the official report near the tip-off.

Karl-Anthony Towns can soon mark his return

Towns, one of Minnesota’s core stars, has been missing from the roster since early March. While his absence initially fared well for Anthony Edwards, the team faced 2 back to back losses in their initial 3 games without the center.

Since then, the team has managed an 8-2. However, there is no doubt that the team will need Towns as soon as the post-season begins. Luckily, the latest updates resonate that KAT might catch up with the squad right on time.

Upon Karl’s initial sidelining, experts and Insiders anticipated that Towns’ earlier return could be around the Conference Playoffs. However, Timberwolves governor Glen Taylor recently declared that Karl-Anthony is rehabbing ahead of schedule. However, Glen did not give a hint at the timeline of his return. With that, Shams Charania, in the recent update, signaled “optimism” in Karl-Anthony Towns’ return near the end of the season.
