Will Chris Paul start for the Warriors in his season debut?

Ahead of the thrilling contest, both teams have players who are sidelined due to injuries. Draymond Green is expected to miss the season opener versus the Suns due to an ankle injury he suffered during an off-season practice session. The injury cost him the entire preseason. However, fans can breathe a sigh of relief; he won’t be sidelined for long. Although he is out for the first regular-season game, as per Steve Kerr, the 33-year-old has been making significant progress. He has been cleared for 5-on-5 scrimmaging, but his availability for Tuesday’s game is questionable. The 2017 DPOY’s absence raises questions about the team’s starting lineup.

In Draymond’s absence, new addition Chris Paul is expected to fill in his position. While there is no official confirmation about the starting five, Green’s absence has solidified Paul’s position in the starting lineup. The “Point God” is expected to start alongside Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, and Kevon Looney in tonight’s game against the Suns.

Warriors will be without Draymond Green in the season opener

Draymond Green’s absence in today’s game is a huge blow to the Warriors’ already abysmal perimeter defense. Green has not only been an exceptional defensive player but has also contributed greatly to the team’s offense. His ability to stretch the floor for the players to make open shots often gets overlooked. The formidable scoring trio of Bradley Beal, Kevin Durant, and Devin Booker could cause a lot of trouble for the Warriors sans middle linebacker Draymond Green. However, much to the Splash Brothers’ relief, Bradley Beal is also listed as questionable for tonight’s game due to a back injury.
