“At this point in our careers, we’ve seen it all. Had all the experiences. So, you’ve got something to draw back from,” said Draymond Green in the aftermath of the Rockets’ win in Game 5. The ongoing playoff series between the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets has been described as “a fiery spectacle.” Bouts of physicality are being displayed by players of both teams. Things have also gotten quite ugly over the last 5 games, with either Dillon Brooks or Draymond Green creating some scuffles. At the same time, however, the duo have been amongst the most valuable contributors in this series. Therefore, to provide a balance against the Canadians, the Warriors’ power forward will have to be available to lock down the series in Game 6. Fortunately, from an injury standpoint, Green’s availability isn’t in doubt.

According to the Golden State Warriors Injury Report, as highlighted by ESPN, Draymond Green’s name is nowhere to be found. In fact, the report contains the names of ZERO players! This means that the full Warriors squad will take on Dillon Brooks and co. in the next few hours. This also means that the power forward’s issues with his neck continue to be behind him, for now. At the early stage of the new year, Draymond Green made several appearances on the Injury Report, as he suffered from issues related to his ankle, back, illness, and calf.

Fortunately, all these issues were gone by early February, and the player had a smooth run. The last injury sustained by him occurred a little before mid-April, when Green had to head to the locker room during the 1st quarter of a matchup against the Clippers due to a neck issue. Fortunately, he checked back in at the 1:30 mark of the first quarter. Enough said.

The injury situation is all well for the Golden State Warriors. However, the same cannot be said about the Houston Rockets. Jae’Sean Tate had earlier sustained a right ankle injury. This caused him to miss the final two games of the regular season and all games of the Warriors-Rockets playoff series till now. He has been declared ‘OUT’ for Game 6 as well.

The Rockets will also have to go on without Jock Landale, who had just returned to the main lineup after missing 4 consecutive games due to a right knee contusion. In light of these updates, it is apparent that at least one of the teams will have to make adjustments to the starting lineup.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Draymond Green's fiery presence lock down the series for the Warriors against the Rockets?

Have an interesting take?

What will the starting lineup and depth chart for the Warriors-Rockets game look like?

With no players on the Injury Report, there would be no changes to the Warriors’ Starting 5. There is some doubt whether Jonathan Kuminga will be put into the rotation this time. He had played in Game 3 when Jimmy Butler was ‘OUT’ due to a deep glute muscle contusion. Since then, however, he has participated for zero minutes in the 2 games that followed Game 3. We won’t know the answer to this doubt until the day of the game.

In light of this, the starting lineup for the Golden State Warriors is expected to look like this:

Jae’Sean Tate had only been averaging 3.6 points and 2.3 rebounds per game in the regular season. Therefore, his absence won’t impact the Rockets much. With Jock Landale, the Rockets will be without a tertiary Center. Therefore, Jabari Smith Jr. and Jeff Green will receive more responsibilities.

In light of this information, the starting lineup for the Houston Rockets will look like this:
