After a dragged-out offseason and a 3-2 preseason record, the new season is finally here for the Dub Nation. And what better way to start the campaign than with LeBron James going up against Stephen Curry? Tonight, the Golden State Warriors will hit the road to face off against the Los Angeles Lakers for one of two opening night matchups. While Chef Curry is all set to light up the Crypto.com Arena on Tuesday, the same cannot be said for several of his teammates. So, will the forward Jimmy Butler suit up tonight?

Well, there’s good news for the Dubs Nation. Both Jimmy Butler and Jonathan Kuminga, who were initially suspected to be sidelined for this matchup, have been upgraded to probable. This indicates that the 36-year-old, who rolled up his ankle earlier in practice and had to miss several preseason games, might be back in action tonight. Last season, even though he just played 30 games during the regular season for the franchise after joining them midway through the season, Jimmy was quite impactful.
The six-time NBA All-Star averaged 17.9 points along with 5.5 rebounds and 5.9 assists while shooting 47.6 percent from the field and 27.9 percent from deep playing for the Warriors. This impressive stat line goes to show just how important he will be to the Warriors this season. Nonetheless, while there’s a high chance the veteran star will feature tonight, the illustrious franchise will miss several others.

Who are the other stars on the Golden State Warriors’ injury report?
While Jimmy Butler is all set to be evaluated before tonight’s game, there’s another player who’ll be alongside the veteran. As we mentioned, young forward Jonathan Kuminga is also a probable for this game. But that’s not all the injuries on the Golden State Warriors roster, as Moses Moody is set to miss the opening night action. The shooting guard, who had previously been ruled out of the preseason due to a calf injury, will not play tonight as well for the same reason.

Meanwhile, rookie Alex Toohey is also out of contention for tonight’s game as he continues to recover from his knee injury. Lastly, De’Anthony Melton will once again be on the bench tonight. This comes after the veteran guard sustained a knee injury earlier during the offseason. He’ll be re-evaluated in around four weeks, as per ESPN. This means head coach Steve Kerr will have a lot to think about for his starting five. So, who’ll cut the Purple & Gold?
