Two Western Conference heavyweights collide tonight as the Lakers face the Bucks in a high-stakes matchup. L.A. is coming off a clean 118-104 win over the Pelicans, while Milwaukee survived a 147-134 overtime shootout against the Hornets. Both teams enter on tired legs, but the spotlight stays on the Lakers. With Luka Doncic driving their momentum, the question is whether he suits up tonight against Giannis Antetokounmpo and a surging Bucks squad?

Is Luka Doncic playing tonight?

Fortunately for the Lakers Nation, Luka Doncic will play tonight. This matchup marks a notable milestone as it will be his first back-to-back appearance of the season. Earlier in the year, Doncic was held out of both halves of the Lakers’ October 26-27 back-to-back against Sacramento and Portland. It was because of a left-finger sprain and contusion of the lower left leg.

Saturday’s action will see Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo (if he plays) go head-to-head as they stand as the top two scorers in the NBA. Currently, he is averaging 33.7 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 9.2 assists across nine appearances. The Lakers hold a 6-3 record with him on the floor.

Game review & predictions

The Lakers are riding on momentum from a strong outing in their last game. Meanwhile, the Bucks backed into the second leg of their back-to-back with a high-scoring win against the Charlotte Hornets. From an analytical standpoint, Los Angeles will try to push and lean on Doncic and Reaves’ elite playmaking, but Milwaukee’s advantage lies in size and interior defense. Also, a lot will depend on Giannis’ availability, or else our prediction says it is the Lakers winning, given their 6-2 record on the road.
