Anthony Leon Tucker, or popularly known as PJ Tucker, is the LA Clippers’ power defender. Born on May 5, 1985, to Anthony Tucker Sr. and Aleshia Tucker, he has been a sensation in the NBA world since he was drafted. Of course, with the Clippers attempting to make it through the ongoing playoffs series, the team’s power forward, PJ Tucker, is getting more recognition with each passing day. As fans question the 38-year-old’s marital status, let’s dive into the relationship the player shared with his wife of 13 years: Tracy Tucker.

Who is PJ Tucker’s wife Tracy?

PJ Tucker’s wife is Tracy Tucker (nee Nicole Washington). She was born in California in 1985, the same year as her future husband, but almost 2,240 miles away. She spent the majority of her childhood in the Golden State, even going so far as to attend the University of California, from where she graduated with a degree in bioengineering. At the same time, the future NBA star attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he played for three seasons alongside the university’s basketball team.

The Beginning of a Relationship

Both PJ and Tracy have not revealed how their relationship came to blossom. However, various reports have claimed that the couple first met during the late 2000s. After a few years of dating, the two eventually tied the knot on the 6th of August 2010. Up till that point, it had been three years since Tucker had concluded his first and only year playing for the NBA. According to ‘The US Sun’, the couple’s wedding was a private affair, with only close family members and friends in attendance.

PJ and Tracy welcomed their first child, a son named King, back on the 7th of February, 2012. While the Clippers played seldom posts anything about his family members on social media, he did post a heartwarming message last year as King turned 12. Having nicknamed his son “Twin, PJ Tucker seems to have passed on his basketball genes to his eldest, as evident from a post he shared in February of this year.

During her 13 years of marriage, Tracy Tucker has worked to create her own identity, separate from that of her husband. According to her LinkedIn profile, she has worked with the $194 billion brand Cisco for over 15 years now. Having moved into different positions within the organization from time to time, Tracy currently serves as the head of a partner-focused sales engineering team. Her work has been mentioned in several blogs available on Cisco’s official website.

PJ Tucker credits his wife for getting him back into the NBA

PJ Tucker played his rookie year for the Toronto Raptors after being selected as the 35th pick in the 2006 NBA draft. Between the period of January and March 2007, Tucker would alternate between the Raptors and the NBA Development League until the franchise waived him. As a result, his total playing time during his rookie season amounted to just 82 minutes. Tucker eventually returned to the NBA in 2012 after signing on with the Phoenix Suns. During an interview with Andscape in 2019, the player revealed that he wouldn’t have chosen to return to the league if it hadn’t been for his wife.

“My wife just had my son. She said just give it one more shot, said Tucker. My minimum (pay) was so low. I was going to get paid a couple million (in Russia). I gambled on myself, but I didn’t want to. Trust me……… If it wasn’t for my wife and my agent, I wouldn’t have come back. It’s crazy. If the player had chosen to follow a different path, then he never would have found his way into the Milwaukee Bucks back in 2021, and he certainly wouldn’t have been able to call himself the recipient of an NBA championship trophy.

With both PJ and Tracy being private individuals, it’s often rare for fans to get quick updates on the duo. However, with the couple not going anywhere, we may get the chance to know more information about them if they choose to reveal the same to us.
