Who is Shaedon Sharpe’s father? Was he a professional basketball player?

Given his surname, there has been a lot of curiosity regarding NFL legend Shannon Sharpe being related to, and possibly being the father of Shaedon Sharpe. Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but no, they are not related. Their having the same surname is purely coincidental.

Shaedon Sharpe’s father is named Robert Sharpe. He is a business owner from London, Ontario, Canada, which is also Shaedon’s hometown. Though he used to play basketball and football in his younger days, he never got a chance to play professionally. Even so, he never missed an opportunity to encourage his son to pursue his career in sports.

Robert Sharpe and his wife have three children in total, meaning the Trail Blazers’ guard has two siblings. Amari, their firstborn, who is Shaedon’s older sister, and Nishayne, Shaedon’s brother, and the youngest in the family. However, not much more is known about them.

She and Robert would often drive their son to his practices. For high school, when Shaedon moved to America, first to the Sunrise Christian Academy in Kansas and then the Dream City Christian School in Arizona, he had his mother’s utmost support in pursuing his dream.

The Sharpe family has been observed to be a very close and tight-knit unit. Shaedon’s parents and siblings were all present during the 2022 NBA Draft when Portland picked Sharpe as the 7th pick. Well, the family’s close bond is also on display during Portland’s games. Shaedon’s parents have been spotted in the crowd often, cheering for their son and his team. If only all families were as close and wholesome as the Sharpes!
