After winning their first preseason game with a buzzer-beater, Stephen Curry and Co. will be back in action tonight. Reflecting on the game, Coach Steve Kerr praised a strong training camp and a solid preseason start. However, when asked about how Curry and De’Anthony Melton complement each other in the backcourt, Kerr remarked, “They look great together, you know, I know Steph didn’t shoot well.” This comment not only emphasized their partnership but also Curry’s shooting struggles, as he missed all four of his 3-point attempts.

Well, we all know how lethal Curry is from beyond the arc, and, hence, Kerr doesn’t seem too concerned. The Warriors take on the Sacramento Kings next. The answer to whether Curry will play in tonight’s game is a yes. He’ll be looking to do better from his performance against the Clippers and also eyeing a second W for his team.

The Warriors were knocked out by the Kings last season in the play in’s. They have some unfinished business left and will try to get some sort of revenge. Even though there’s nothing on the line in tonight’s game Curry and his team would like to set the tone for the upcoming regular season.

As far as the team news goes for the Warriors, Andrew Wiggins is still unavailable due to an unknown illness. Coach Kerr is using his absence to explore new lineups and combinations on the court. We’ll be seeing much of that tonight as well. Moses Moody had a great game in Hawaii and will be in contention to start the game. The Warriors starting five

The Golden State Warriors will line up to play against the Sacramento Kings at the Golden 1 Arena in Sacramento. The Tip-off is at 10:30 p.m. ET/ 7:30 p.m. PT. Stephen Curry is expected to start alongside De’Anthony Melton. The young guns Moses Moody and Jonathan Kuminga will also be part of the starting five.

Warriors’ injury updates

Andrew Wiggins is currently the only player unavailable for the Warriors, although reports indicate he was seen practicing at the Bay Arena after his return from Hawaii. While he’s still working his way back to full fitness, Wiggins is expected to be ready in time for the regular season opener against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Coach Steve Kerr has set high expectations for Wiggins, stating during media day, “I’m expecting a big year from [Wiggins] and I think there’s also a void that is left by Klay’s absence that we need to fill”. Wiggins is anticipated to take on a key scoring role, second only to Stephen Curry. As for the rest of the squad, Kerr mentioned they had a “wonderful” camp and capped it off with a buzzer-beating win by Lindy Waters.

While the Warriors’ side looks almost at their full strength. They will be hoping to make two wins out of two against the Kings and Stephen Curry would want to put in a good performance as well.
