After a series of ups and downs, the Golden State Warriors managed to close out well. With their recent victory against the Houston Rockets, the Dubs evaded the play-in spot danger. Now, Stephen Curry & Co. would look to make the most out of it in their remaining regular season schedule. They take on the struggling Utah Jazz tonight at the Chase Center amidst their underwhelming 19-19 home record. Hours before the clash, an injury report revealed that management had opted to rest Stephen Curry and will be out.

After recovering from the ankle injury sustained during the Chicago Bulls‘ clash, the Baby-faced Assassin went on an illustrious run to get the team back on track. Missing only 6 games this season, looks like Steph has finally earned a rest, as per Anthony Slater. While the decision seems to be an unsuspicious one with a genuine reason, the stat books raise a slight concern in few minds.

The Dubs have had a poor run in the absence of Stephen Curry. Out of the 6 games, the team has managed to win only one game. With the season on the line, coach Steve Kerr seems to be taking a grave risk, opting to rest the superstar. Especially after the team ended their 6-game winning streak against the Dallas Mavericks a day ago. However, on the other end, the Jazz is currently on an 11-game losing streak.

Apart from Steph, the team also has three other players on the injury report. The team’s rising star Jonathan Kuminga missed 6 games in a row with a knee injury and Andrew Wiggins missed the Mavs’ game with an ankle injury. The latest report revealed that both stars have been listed in the Questionable category. Moreover, the team also listed Gary Payton II in the Probable category.

Meanwhile, the Jazz has a couple of star players out of their line-up too. Lauri Markkenan, who has been dealing with a shoulder injury, will miss the remaining season. Apart from him, Jordan Clarkson, John Collins, and Walker Kessler will also miss tonight.

Warriors vs Jazz: Starting line-up

The Dubs have three of their starting unit missing tonight’s game. Veteran point guard Chris Paul might get a call-up in the starting line-up to replace Stephen Curry. Steve Kerr took the tough call to make the 38-year-old veteran come off the bench for the first time in his 19-season-long career.

Despite the new role, CP3 has started 15 games for the Dubs this season. He has averaged 12.6 points and 7.5 assists per game with a high score of 24 points in those games. Meanwhile, coming off the bench in 38 games, he has averaged 7.8 points. Along with him, Klay Thompson will play a crucial role, as the star moved to the starting line-up again in the absence of Kuminga.
