One such event took place when one of his former teammates defeated Klay Thompson off-court.

Ty Jerome would often raise Klay’s hopes of winning a chess game before eventually defeating him. To explain it better, he even used an infamous Star Wars analogy. He said, “It Was Like Darth Vader Beat Obi-Wan Kenobi,” referring to the most famous duels in cinematic history.

Klay even said that his other teammate, Draymond Green, used to hype up Jerome and taunt Klay. This used to add a different layer to the competition, making it more intense and competitive. No matter what the results were, Klay would let go of himself at that moment in an attempt to become a champion.
