The Golden State Warriors have not been themselves lately, winning only three of their last ten encounters. The Dubs entered their Monday night matchup against Cleveland with a 16-15 record, with a great opportunity to close out the calendar year with a win. However, Stephen Curry and Co. failed to do so as the situation looks sketchy for the Warriors heading to 2025.

Significantly, Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland had other plans as the backcourt duo combined for a 48-point stand to see the Cavs blowout the Warriors 113-95. For the Warriors, Steph Curry could only gather 11 points and three assists as he ended the game at 28.6% from the field.

After the game, the veteran sharpshooter reflected on the team’s poor effort last night. He said, “Like the kids say, we’re very mid right now,” talking about the Warriors’ poor recent form as they continue to plummet further down in the rankings. Furthermore, Curry’s post-game remarks sparked a series of responses from fans from all around the globe.

One fan stated “It’s A Shame to see” as the frustration is valid given the Dubs have been struggling. This happened despite making a smart trade bringing in veteran guard Dennis Schroder to add more depth to the roster. And by watching his recent performances, the German will take time to find his feet in the Bay Area.

Fans furious after Stephen Curry’s post-game remarks on Golden State’s recent form

As things stand, the Warriors are the tenth seed in the West and occupy a play-in spot. This isn’t what Steve Kerr and Golden State had in mind given their great start to the 2024-25 campaign. Fans blame their trade policy as a major reason for their downfall. As one follower wrote, “Warriors are delaying the inevitable rebuild.” Given their over-reliance on 36-year-old Curry, a rebuild is definitely on the cards, and the sooner, the better.

Interestingly, another fan also suggests a similar but rather extreme approach stating, “Trade everyone” which shows the level of frustration among the Dubs fans as they see their team’s record go from bad to worse. While Curry’s statement is true, it doesn’t help the situation any further as they need to look for solutions to get back from this slump.

At the same time, another user took it as far as writing “We” in a sarcastic tone, as he further accompanied his tweet with a picture of Steph’s stats from the Cavaliers game. It was a subtle shot at the veteran guard who had a pretty disappointing night scoring eleven and going for 4 out of 14 from the field.

On the other hand, a user spoke his mind on the matter saying “Nah kids gonna say they a*s lol” as he humorously suggested the kids are not going to think of the Warriors as a mid-team but something much worse instead.

Well, the situation is not going well for the Dubs. But it’s not one person’s responsibility. The whole setup should be held accountable. Steve Kerr and his staff should find a solution soon before the season goes out of their grasp.
