For a Memphis fanbase that has endured suspensions, injuries, and humiliation, the latest rumor about Ja Morant isn’t just news, but something that feels like a final verdict. It was back in 2023 when the Memphis Grizzlies played a playoff game. Since then, the fans witnessed suspensions, injuries, regular-season humiliations, empty arenas, and a lot more. Now, as a final nail in the coffin, a brand new Ja Morant update popped up!
James Harvey Jr., CEO of a real estate company, listed a beautiful $3.5 million mansion on the outskirts of Memphis city along with its pictures. It immediately drew attention for its grandeur and high-end living. Soon after that, social media users shared the images on the internet and speculated that it was Ja Morant’s mansion.
Social media detectives quickly connected the dots by matching the new listing’s photos to the sprawling 13,000-square-foot Eads Estate Ja Morant purchased in 2022. While unconfirmed by his camp, the visual evidence was enough to spark panic across Grizzlies X (formerly Twitter).

This was enough to send the Memphis fans into a meltdown. The 2x NBA All-Star hasn’t been in the best of form since 2022. His production and his presence on the court have continued to drop, and it has directly affected the team over the last few seasons. So far in the last three seasons, Morant has missed 160 games. Amid this situation, for the first time in years, this season, the Grizzlies management engaged in trade talks with multiple teams ahead of the trade deadline.
While none of it materialized, several reports expect the star guard to play for the Miami Heat in the upcoming season. The reports were further solidified after Ja Morant purchased a house worth $3.2 million in Miami-Dade County in December last year. Now that his Memphis house is allegedly listed, fans have a lot to say!
Ja Morant’s mansion listing fuels speculation about his future
“It’s over! Damn” A fan reacted to the mansion listing. While Ja Morant’s stay with the Grizzlies already hung in the balance on a thin thread, this instance left this fan in disbelief. Considering the speculation about his next teams and his lack of availability doesn’t help the fan either.
Another fan, connecting the available dots, has come down to a similar conclusion, as they wrote, “Ja Morant’s house has been put up for sale… Well, my friends, it’s coming to an end.” If not entirely, Morant’s absence in the last few seasons has impacted the fandom. Especially during the 2023-24 season, serving a 25-game suspension followed by a shoulder injury, Morant appeared on only 9 occasions.
During that season, the attendance average dropped to 16,631 per game, the third lowest in the league. Despite that, several loyal fans continued to back the star guard. Another Grizzlies loyal wrote, “Bron talked about Memphis and Ja listed his house for sale the same day I’m gone, man.” This fan’s referring to the video clip where LeBron James casually takes a dig at Memphis while playing golf.
Bron said, “You think I want to do shit in Memphis on a random Thursday? I’m not the first guy in the NBA to talk about this. .. Go over to Nashville already.” While the mansion listing only speculated on Morant’s exit, Bron went up a notch and wanted to uproot the entire franchise from the land. Hmm, that’s a tough day for a Grizzlies fan.
Another fan, hitting back at King James, wrote, “Lebron never has had to live there. He’s playing there max twice a year, once a year when he was with the Cavs and Heat. Ja Morant is a star and loves it there.” This fan remained optimistic irrespective of the full-blown trade speculation. Meanwhile, a frustrated fan took the opportunity to slap back at Morant, writing, “Maybe he can use that money to purchase a new jump shot.”
Considering Morant’s decline in shooting percentage since the 2021-22 season, which has dropped from 49.3% to 41.0% in the last 4 seasons. Anyway, it’s only a one-way communication until the franchise or the star himself breaks the silence.
