NY Knicks star Jalen Brunson opened up after the comeback night. The star point guard had a scary injury during the opening minute of the Cleveland Cavaliers encounter. The 27-year-old limped off the court, with everyone expecting him to miss the majority of games. Fortunately, he returned to the court tonight, against the Orlando Magic, after missing just one game.

He didn’t just return to the court, but also lit up the Madison Square Garden with an emphatic performance. Brunson’s 26 points helped the team take home a blowout 98-74 win over the Magic. Following the game, he spoke about his scary knee injury. He said, “I thought of a thousand different situations of what it could have been and I’m just glad it wasn’t.”

Brunson has been the centerpiece of the Knicks attack ever since Julius Randle and OG Anunoby were ruled out with injuries. In fact, the team faced a sudden slump in their run compared to their early unshakable run. The team has lost 6 out of their last 10 games amid this injury plague. Fortunately, Jalen Brunson’s injury didn’t make an impact on the side as it was expected to do. During the opening minute of the Cavs clash, he collied with Isaiah Hartenstein while attempting for a jump shot.

The team escorted him off the court immediately as he visibly looked in immense pain. The X-rays revealed that the star point guard doesn’t have anything serious.

Moreover, the Knicks fans had a positive update on Brunson hours after the X-ray update. But they weren’t sure when he would be back on the court. Ahead of the Atlanta Hawks clash, the NY coach Tom Thibodeau made a positive update and held him back for the Hawks clash.

Jalen Brunson shines on his return

It was a low-scoring affair at New York and a perfect evening for Brunson to make his return. The Knicks dominated the game right from the word get go. The Knicks defense didn’t let the Magic catch up and ended the first half with a 16 point lead. And following that, the visitors didn’t have any response counterattack in the second half.

Apart from Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner’s 36-point fight, the team didn’t get enough support from the rest of the roster. The team also produced an underwhelming shooting percentage of 34.2 and struggled to catch up with the Knicks lead. Currently, the both sides have same number of wins in the East (37). Who do you think will end up with more wins? Let us know in the comments.
