It took a while for the league to take notice of Jalen Brunson. But now he is the leading scorer of the New York Knicks and has been leading the team to an amazing record for the past few years. However, that wasn’t always the case, as many teams chose to look past him and draft other players instead. Leading former Warriors general manager to question himself on live television after Brunson’s historic night.

Warriors GM may regret giving up on Jalen Brunson

The New York Knicks just defeated a stacked Phoenix Suns team. The Knicks won with a final score of 139-122, rallying behind Jalen Brunson’s 50-point performance. Now, New York is in the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference.

And a lot of that credit does go to Jalen Brunson. Brunson has been the team’s leader in scoring, averaging 25.6 PPG, 3.8 RPG, and 5.9 APG on 59.8 true shooting percentage this season so far.

After Brunson’s 50-point performance, former Warriors general manager Bob Myers may have taken a subtle shot at himself. While Brunson was walking off the floor, one of the announcers remarked on the general managers around the league who gave up on Brunson. That is when Bob Myers said, Yeah, who are those guys? They’re probably out of work or probably doing TV.”

Jalen Brunson was the 33rd pick in the 2018 NBA draft. The Dallas Mavericks picked him up in the second round. However, even after consistently improving, Brunson was traded to the Knicks after four seasons with the Mavericks.

A total of 30 teams gave up on drafting Brunson in the 2018 draft. And the Warriors were one of them as well. No wonder Bob Myers indirectly took a shot on himself.

Jalen Brunson scored 50 points, setting a new career high for him. He also had 9 assists, 6 rebounds, and 5 steals for the game as well. The Knicks could easily take care of the Suns due to Brunson.

The Suns had all three All-Stars at the start of the game. Unfortunately, five minutes into the matchup, Bradley Beal ended up twisting his ankle after which he did not return to the floor, leading the Knicks to take over.
