Jaylen Brown didn’t miss the chance to make his pitch to LeBron James while appearing on IShowSpeed’s World Cup livestream. Speaking to an audience of more than 57 million subscribers, the five-time All-Star floated the idea of LeBron heading to Philadelphia before the conversation shifted to Brown’s own departure from the Boston Celtics and the realities of NBA business.

“You gotta recruit LeBron. You gotta tell LeBron he gotta pull up, man. Pull up to Philly,” Brown said to Speed during the France vs Morocco match.

Speed obliged and started narrating the team advantage that Bron will have pairing up with Jaylen Brown and the new-look Philadelphia 76ers. But the 21-year-old streamer was not well versed with the latest trade scenario and the roster changes in Philly.

“Ha! LeBron, pull up to Philly,” said Speed. “Think about it. LeBron, Jaylen Brown, PG13.”

That’s when Jaylen Brown had to interrupt and state, “He’s gone. He’s gone, bro.” The match was in Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, and fans started chanting ‘we miss you’ towards JB. But before recruiting LeBron James, Speed asked the real reason why he was traded.

“They packed me up bro. It’s a crazy business bro, don’t become a basketball player. There’s no loyalty. I think a lot of people would want to hear that. They’re asking that question right now. I don’t know. I got packed up. They packed me up, sayonara, I’m out of here.”

Speed tried to ease the pain by suggesting cheesesteaks in Philly are one of the advantages of moving to the Sixers. Brown agreed but even suggested that the team consisting of Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, and last year’s rookie V. J Edgecombe is equally tantalizing. Despite trading for JB, it seems the 76ers are not quite done and are aiming for LeBron James.

Even his agent, Rich Paul, placed the Sixers on a short list of primary contenders, highlighting their elite starting lineup potential alongside Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and recent blockbuster addition Jaylen Brown. Reports from ESPN’s Brian Windhorst suggest that another Paul client, Tyrese Maxey, will be crucial in any negotiations that bring LeBron to Philly. In fact, the 4x NBA champion also shares a good relationship with President of Basketball Operations Mike Gansey, as they previously worked together during Cleveland’s championship run.

Still, a Jaylen Brown recruitment pitch is not a bad idea. The Warriors are doing their best to first lure Anthony Davis and then sign LeBron James. Similarly, the Heat are looking for another Big 3 run, this time alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo. With the two All-Stars sharing the same agency, they are looking to build a modern “Big 3” and have actively recruited other elite talent to South Beach, with LeBron James heavily linked to joining. The Cleveland Cavaliers can’t be ruled out as they already have the homecoming farewell story ending.

Plus, reports have emerged that they are willing to trade for Bronny James to make the return even sweeter. Since LeBron is a free agent, he has a lot of offers. So, players and front office executives are doing their best to secure his signature.
